Bewitched questions

1. Were Samantha's parents Endora and Maurice divorced or separated?

2. Were Aunt Clara and Maurice brother and sister?

3. Do you think Samantha should have left a dog to babysit Tabitha? (she did that in one episode when she had to "pop" over somewhere for a few minutes).

1. I don't believe they ever came right out and said this, but I got the impression that they were separated. In the episode where Maurice met Darrin and lost his temper, Endora threatened to move back in with him. That sounds like a separation.

2. I always assumed Clara was related to Maurice, not Endora, because of her more gentle temperament (Arthur and Serena were probably from Endora's side of the family). Clara wasn't necessarily Maurice or Endora's sister -- she might have been an aunt or a cousin.

3. Boy, I wonder what Mrs. Kravitz would have had to say about that.

I think Uncle Arthur and Endora are brother and sister. I'm thinking Serena is from Maurice's side of the family since Samantha once said she resembled her father. Who knows for sure.

Regarding question 2:

Arthur and Endora were brother and sister. In one episode, it was mentioned that Endora was an only child before Arthur was born.

However, in another episode when Endora lost her powers, it was said that someone related to her could have received them. Clara was the one who ended up with her powers.

So, it sounds as if Clara and Endora are supposed to be related, but I'm not sure how.

Also, Serena once mentioned that she was from Maurice's side of the family.

All of this could be contradicted in yet another episode, though.

Gee, I always thought that Aunt Clara was Endora's sister. It said so in the "Bewitched Forever" book.

Clara and Endora could be sisters. There's a lack of continuity in Bewitched sometimes; one episode will explain something one way, and another episode will change it.
