Where in the World is Mayfield

I was just watching the episode in which Beaver plays with the garbage man's kids, and Ward refers to the grabage man as living on the other side of Euclid Avenue. I know that Euclid Avenue is an important street in the vicinity of Cleveland, which supports the idea that this is Mayfield, Ohio.

I agree that Mayfield is in Ohio. All the references to Shaker Heights kinds of makes me think that.

All I know is that in the original LITB, the state Mayfield was in was kept a secret. Ohio seemed like it was probably where it was at until the later seasons, then they said they lived right by the beach and the Beaver liked to surf. It was never revealed where Mayfield actually was. I know on the LITB movie they made, Mayfield was in Ohio, and although I never saw the show, I think I heard it was in Ohio on the New LITB tv show also.

On the NLITB show, it was always intended that Mayfield never be revealed to be in any particular state. Props on the show such as checks, mail, etc. that would normally have a state listed always had something like 'Mayfield, USA' on them. Car liscene plates said "America's Heartland" on them instead of the state.

Yeah, it's supposedly in the Mid-West, but I also remember seeing an episode where they say that the ocean is only a few miles away.
