Well, the rumors are obviously true:

Burns & Allen comes off of TVLand (along with "Father Knows Best," "Hazel" and "The Honeymooners") on September 1st. Just ONE more weekend. I don't understand TVLand.

They had good programming when they began -- then it became crap -- then they get the rights to all of these GREAT 50s shows -- and suddenly now, it's crap again.

I don't know if this will work, BUT I have started an online petition which I plan to mail to TVLand. I want them to know that there is a strong fan following for these shows. This particular petition is for "Burns & Allen" and "Father Knows Best" and so it'd be GREAT if you could show your support of these shows by going to this URL:http://www.petitiononline.com/FKBBAA/petition.html

Thanks guys! We might just be able to save "Burns & Allen" from another 20 years in the vault!!!!

There needs to be a station like TVLand that will run black and white shows from the 50s and 60s exclusively. Then they could bust out some of the ones we havent seen in years! There is over 50 years of television that can be rerun. You would think that someone who has connections with distributors would take advantage of that.

Burns & Allen are staying on TV Land in September, it is NOT leaving. It will still air Sundays at 9am.

I totally agree that there should be a cable channel (TVLand Classics or something) that would show the early sitcoms and dramas of television. I would love to be able to watch Burns & Allen more often along with December Bride, My Little Margie, People's Choice, I Married Joan, I Remember Mama, Groucho, Jack Benny and countless others (including the dramas such as Perry Mason, Untouchables etc.). While I have been an I Love Lucy fan and enjoy the Honeymooners it would certainly be nice to see many of the other black and white classics again. It seems that the trend on TVLand as well as the classic movie channels is away from the old black and white entertainment to more "retro" 70's programs and films. Let's not forget the great pioneers!

Pavanbadal,
I can see how people get confused. The TVLand schedule only has episodes for B&A, Hazel, etc through September 1st, even though the shows are sticking around.
