Poll: Rachel or Phoebe?

Which character was heavier during her pregnancy?, Rachel or
Phoebe, and how much did they weigh? This, of course, is assuming that these characters are real people.

Well being that Phoebe had triplets, I would hope that she would weigh more than Rachel. :)

Definetly Phoebe. She had triplets and was huge. In the last
episode before she had the baby, she was eating a bowl of
cereal that rested on her stomach while she was standing up!
Her stomach was enormous. She was like 180lbs, whereas
Rachel was only 140 or 150 at the most.

I think it was Rachel, although Phoebe had triplets, Rachel was huge. Phoebe was maybe 160lbs, but Rachel was like 175 or more.

No way, it had to be Phoebe, their were episodes when she looked SOOO big, like The one with Ross's wedding part one and two...They made Rachel basically all belly, because Lisa Kudrow was really pregnant through some of her scenes she was more then just all belly, I would have to say definetly Phoebe...

Well, I'm not exactly sure how much she weighed before she was pregnant, but at the end of her pregnancy I would think she weighed anything between 170lb. to 195lb - Where as Rachel looked like she gained maybe 30 pounds. The only reason why I'm saying 30 is because my sister is 9 monthes pregnant and she weighed 112lbs before she got pregnant now she weighes 134...and she looks about the same as Rachel....

Wow, I weigh the same as your sister and I'm 5'8 and not pregnant. You're probably right about Phobe (Lisa Kudrow) weighing 195 or so. She was really heavy and showed it. My brother is over 6', but weighs only 180lbs.

My sister's 5'6...but yeaa she went into pre-labor today :D - But, I think both Phoebe and Rachel both looks beautiful when they were pregnant...

Yea I think Rachel had some special makeup used for her stomache where as I think Phoebe had a giant pillow or something like that, I'd have to say Phoebe did look a lot bigger though.

Well in the beginning Phoebe was pregnant with her son when she was pregnant with the triplets, so I think that plus whatever make-up or whatever she had done had to of been what made her look so big

It was probably posted by a curious expectant mother or something. There is nothing bad about topping 200 pounds, my sister did. Of course she is 5'11''. By the way, how tall are you, flutey?:) :crazy: :)

Its funny that I found this topic here. I saw one of the episodes
yesterday in which Phoebe was pregnant. She was wearing a
pair if khaki overalls, and in one scene you can clearly see a
button popping off near her stomach. Its not very funny though, she was probably embarassed. She had to have been
about 200lbs at the time. After all, she couldn't help it.

Although Phoebe was probably heavier, Rachel looked a lot bigger. Her stomach was very large. Also, the clothes that Rachel wore didn't exactly fit her. It always looked like her pants were about to break open.

Phoebe would be heavier because she's taller and has a bigger frame, plus she was carrying triplets. Rachel is petite with a small frame. Even if Phoebe was only carrying one baby, she'd still be heavier when pregnant than Rachel. :wave:

I don't know about that, if they had both been pregnant with only one, or both with triplets, I think Rachel would have weighed more, since Phoebe is kinda thin and lanky. Although shorter, Rachel is a quite a bit curvier.

That's not true. My best friend is a size 4 and when she was pregnant - at 9 months - she only weighed 130. Jennifer Aniston is a size 4 IRL and so is her character. There is NO WAY she could've gotten to 160 - 170 lbs at 9 mos. pregnant. :rolleyes:

That's not nessasarily true for everyone. I was a size 4 when I first got pregnant and was about 120 pounds. I gained a whopping 57 pounds with my son. Thank God I lost it all. I just think everyone's different.

That's true!Women are different than others.So,if one gain
alot of weights others doesn't gain that much.In my case,I
just gained 18 pounds when I was pregnant of my first child
and at my second I gained 22 pounds so,it depends?But,I
will say in this case that Phoebe who were bigger than Rachel.
Don't forget that Lisa was really pregnant in those eps.

Exactly, it depends on the woman. I would argue that if both had single pregnancies or if both had triplets, that Rachel would gain quite a bit more weight than Phoebe. Mostly because of the vegetarian thing, but also for other reasons.

Some of the maternity clothes she wore to work were pretty nice and professional looking, but that red shirt she wore at the end with her stomach hanging out was just nasty.

But, Rachel didn't have the same pregnant "look" that Phoebe had. All pregnant women get puffy in the face, hands, ankles, etc and since Lisa K. was really pregnant, hers was the most authentic looking.

There is a thing called "modesty" and that is something that all pregnant women should exercise. I have two grown sons, both born in June and I was in my third trimester and it was very, very hot. However, I didn't feel like I needed to expose myself just to be comfortable. There are many, many summer maternity outfits a woman can wear, be comfortable and remain covered up at the same time. I know you probably think that's old fogey and stodgey, but keep in mind, you can be proud of being pregnant, but you dont' have to expose your bare stomach to prove it. People can tell you're pregnant without doing that. :cheer:

So why is it okay for a skinny girl to have a cutoff shirt and show her stomach, and its not okay for a pregnant woman? Shouldn't the skinny girl also be modest? Or is this just a bias against large stomaches?

Personally, I don't care too much for the midriff baring outfits these days, but if a girl has a flat stomach and the body for it, I guess it's OK. However, a big stomach because of FAT and a big stomach because of PREGNANCY are two very different things. Midriff baring outfits shouldn't be worn be either of those two types. Why you ask? Because for one, people don't want or need to see all that flab hanging out over your pants. Plus, a pregnant woman is now supposed to be a mature person showing a certain amount of decency and decorum. Remember, she is about to be responsible for another life. :baby:

I can't very well be prejudiced against big stomachs since I have one. Non-pregnant, of course. Unfortunately, things like that come with age. :cuss:

Pheebs. I thought that the pregnancy padding that Jen wore didn't look all that convincing at times. Her bump just seemed to jut out . It's hard to explain what i mean but still it didn't look right. Also to make it more realistic they should have padded her chest too.

Actually, one friend of mine did it as she was getting up out of a chair. The shirt she was wearing was a bit too snug, but she insisted upon wearing it. So two of the middle buttons popped off. And it was really obvious too, but the rest of us just sat there trying not to laugh as she went to change.
