Why do they even exist? I think they are the stupidest things in the world, and they're everywhere, even here. I dont like them...anyone else agree?

Some of them exclude people purposely, just to make em feel bad.

The thing about Iowa is that everyone outside of here thinks we're all just hick farmers or something, but based on my experience going to school in this state, we have some of the snottiest, cliquey people in the world. The burbs of Des Moines are the outright worst.

I hate my school because it has sooooo many cliques. I was right in the middle of all that clique, excluding people, mean stuff a few years ago...now Im pretty much the exception to the rule and part of several groups.
Yeah, Im weird but anythings better than cliques.

Ever been to the suburbs of Omaha? There are some in IA too...right across the river. Everything else, I gotta agree with you on!

From K-6 grade, I tried SO hard to get in this one clique. I pushed all my good friends away and never got in the click, and everyone hated me.

But now I'm in a new school, and the kids are half nice, but I won't trust anyone as far as I can throw 'em. Hell, I don't trust anyone as far as I can throw 'em, but....

I never really belonged to a clique either. I think I was more like a floater or something. I had my friends and hung out with them, but I never considered it to be a cliques. Believe me people, I was never head cheerleader, wasn't the smartest in the school, didn't go out for sports- so that eliminated me from Day 1 from the main cliques. I didn't really care though. I was cool just being nice to the people I wanted to be nice to and ignore the people that were total asses.

In middle school, I hung around the bad girl group. The ones that were already drinking and smoking and who knows what else. I never did any of that stuff, so I guess you could say I was the outsider in the outsider group. In high school, I found friends that I was more comfortable with. We were just friends and we would let anybody be friends with us. We were friendly to the underclassmen and just did our own thing.

For those that don't belong in their own little group. Don't worry about it. I'm sure you each have dozens of people that don't belong in a group either. It doesn't really matter who the people are as long as they are kind.

Okay, I'm going to stop now because I'm starting to sound like an advice column. lol ;)

cliques suck, I was in one and just when they think you aren't popular or "cool" enough to be in it they throw you out.

besides I really don't care anymore if people want me in one because I don't wanna be labled anyway like as a popular girlie girl, prep, punk, goth, losers, cheerleaders, jocks, or whatever. Thats basically how people are considered at my school and I just like to stay out of that garbage.

I dont really belong to any clique, however when I DO get invitations to go anywhere or do something, I just turn them down. Like this last week, when I finally get my 10 days off of school, which is bascially nothing 'cause I'm waiting for scores in the mail, lol... Anyway, I refused to pick up the phone or talk to anyone simply 'cause "I didn't feel like it." I know it isn't a great attitude to put towards others, but they're not really "my type" and I simply can't stand them. And even if I were to join, I'll probably be the nail sticking out 'cause I wouldn't say anything. Way to shy.

people in my town have there really good friends that they have known for a while that they are tight with and then people have random friends in all of these groups...there are 3 major groups.... the so-called "popular" kids...a group where everyone secretly hates each other and trashes them to their few friends not in there group... the "un-popular" kids...and then everyone else is just thrown together in the middle

Let's see......in school:

There's this group of kids who at recess always stand in a big crowd outside and they are all like "She said she doesn't wanna go otu with you anymore!" and "She called me last night and we were talking about how tight his butt is!" Gosh I really can't stand them. One time they asked this guy if he wanted to be this girl's boyfriend (the girl was part of the 'clique') and he said "No" so one girl said "This is your one chance at being popular and you're gonna turn it down? You must be crazy if you don't wanna hang with us popular kids!" I just wanted to PUNCH THE HECK OUT OF HER! I WANTED TO GRAB HER FACE A STICK IT IN A TOILET! Sorry.....

in the nieghborhood:

Not really 'cliques' but the adults are really so much like a primetime soap opera, it really isn't funny. We have weird neighborhoods around here, subdevisions, suburbs, cul-de-sacs, heck, there's even some trailor parks around here. But everyone is cheating on someone, except some good, kindly folks like mah momma and daddy, lol. Just recently, a woman was gardening in her garden, and the woman her husband left her for came into her yard and they were fighting with garden hoses and shovels, and they were swearing and cussing and I was LAUGHING MY BEHIND OFF!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I don't get it. I mean....we got the "popular" people...who all suck. Then there's the rest of us.

I just dont get it...why does it even happen?? I mean, I actually hang out with the popular kids, so I cant complain too much, but it sucks! I mean, you're always wondering if they're making fun of you today, or someone else. Once, they even played "Survivor" at their lunch table. I have a different lunch period than them, but they told this one girl she couldnt sit with them anymore. The girl became suicidal, seriously. I dont see why they think they're soooo much better than everyone else.
