Just letting you all know that The Love Boat Cast will appear on this Sunday morning's episode of Charlie's Angels, called "Angels Ahoy". The Angels go on a cruise, where drugs are being smuggled from the ship (Gopher! How could you let this happen?! )and the crew all play themselves. It's on at 5AM Pacific Time on TV Land. I'm really looking forward to this because I've never seen this episode before!

- off to listen to my cast recording of Gypsy with Ethel Merman

I'll have to tape this...unless I have it already. I'm not sure. The "cross-over" episodes were fun.

I'm SOOOOO sorry, and I really want to apologize. Obviously the Love Boat cast wasn't on Charlie's Angels last week. I got it confused with another episode. The one they were on was called "Love Boat Angels" not "Angels Ahoy". I felt really bad when I saw they weren't on it :( and I was really embarrassed I posted that they were.

I'm so glad that I didn't miss the cross-over episode. I do have it on tape.
I've been trying to find other things that the actors from The Love Boat have been in, and have had quite a bit of success with Bernie Kopell, who has had quite an acting career, that extends way past The Love Boat. (although Doc was probably one character he portrayed where he didn't wear any disguise, or use an accent--except for one episode).
I know he was on That Girl as Jerry, and I'm trying to figure out what episodes he was in, and if they're included in the tapes/DVD's that are now available of that show.
Any help would be appreciated. I'll have to check out the website that my fellow poster on this board has. Mary, could you help me out? Thanks!

I have two of the THAT GIRL videos and he's in the "Everybody Loves Ann" volume. He is in the last one included on that volume entitled "The Mating Game", which was the first season finale.

Hi, sorry I haven't been around in a while, I've been planning a trip (unfortunately not on a cruise ship). I have 9 episodes of That Girl on tape and they came in a three-cassette pack together. The videos are entitled "Everybody Loves Ann", "All For Showbiz, and "Daddy's Little Girl", and Bernie is in three episodes. It's definitely worth getting for his fans! it's also the only thing I've seen him in besides Love Boat where he speaks with an American accent. I bought them at Barnes & Noble but I'd wish they'd had the other 9 to go with it.

BTW, do you know of anything Fred Grandy was in before he played Gopher? I heard Ted Lange was on a short-lived sitcom
in the 70's, but I don't remember the name.

Ted Lange was on "That's My Mama!" with Clifton Davis (of "Amen"). Look to see if it airs on your local stations, because my UPN once aired it M-F at 2:30pm (central).

I have an episode on tape off of "Welcome Back, Kotter" from TV Land from last year where he plays an assistant to a radio dj, but that's all I've seen of him pre-Love Boat.

I think Fred Grandy was also in an episode of Cagney and Lacey, but I can't remember what the episode was about...

If you're ever interested in selling that episode, you know where to look ;) I think Ted is the cutest guy on The Love Boat (although I really do love all of them) and would love to see him in somthing else.

LOL, it wasn't Ted Lange, I made a boo boo in the post. It was Fred Grandy. I think the episode was called something along the lines of "Radio Free Freddie". I might take screen caps of him some day when I have time.

In my "research", I discovered that Fred Grandy also appeared in an episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. I can't remember the exact title. Bernie Kopell was also a guest on MTM. It's kind of neat to think of the three of them (Gavin MacLeod, Bernie Kopell and Fred Grandy) becoming co-stars on The Love Boat.

 i'm surprised nobody recalled Bernie Kopell's insane and laugh-out-loud hilarious KAOS agent, Zigfried on "Get Smart" from 1966-1969. around the same time, 1966-1971, he was on "That Girl!" and he was then on for a year, 1970-1971, on Doris Day's show. in 1975 he was on Mel Brooks' farce "When Things Were Rotten" and in 1977 we all seen him as 'Doc' on "The Love Boat". since the 1986 departure of the show he's mostly made cameo appearances on comedies and doing TV commercials based on the 'Doc' or 'Zigfried' roles. on TV Land we see him as Zigfried advertising a Maxwell Smart watch. On network TV we see him talking about D-snore, a product that claims to keep people from snoring. and Kopell's parting line in the ad? quote: "it's just what the doctor ordered!"

 oops...i almost forgot to bring up that while i've seen the Angels on the Love Boat i have also seen an episode of "Hart to Hart" that takes place mostly on he Paciffic Princess a/k/a The Love Boat! Jonathan and Jennifer Hart decide to take a cruise but only Gavin and Jill appear in short segments throughout the show.
