Who all is going to Mayberry Days? I think I am getting to go up for Saturday only.

Remember, the Mayberry Poem "A Tribute to
Mayberry" is going to Mayberry Days, so if you have not added your verse yet and would like to see your verse in print at Mayberry Days, please submit yours this week. You may post it directly at the Mayberry Poem forum at http://pub78.ezboard.com/bmayberryusa.

If you have trouble typing it in at the Mayberry USA forum, you may email it to info@ChristianActivities.com

Hope to see some of you there!

Well, I got back from Mayberry Days last week. Had a great time...

I do feel like I have been basically talking to myself since I joined and figure no one really wants to hear about my adventures, so I'll just say it was fun.

You're not talkin to yourself. But I've noticed this board doesn't get a lot of posts. No way for us to know how many read without posting.

I guess nobody here went to MD. I didn't. Glad you had a good time. I've read all or most of the posts, including yours, at Miss Crump's who tell about it when they get back. It sounds like everybody has a real good time, including whatever stars happen to be there.

I'm a member of the class at Miss Crump's under a different name.

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?

Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.

Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.

Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

[Eddie and Lumpy suppress laughter]

Dale Midkiff is my man! :)

Hello! Thanks for responding, folks! I have been traveling on business a lot since MD, and I just returned from OK, so I have not been posting either place much.

Mayberry Days was a lot of fun, and I had no idea what was going on! I missed the parade which I would have loved to have seen -- didn't ever find it listed anywhere! I made my own itenerary from the various MD sites I found on the internet. They were very incomplete. I must have missed an important one somewhere.

Anyway, here's what I DID get to do:

First, we went to the Visitor's Center and saw all the Andy Griffith collection.

Then I went to a press conference with all the stars: Betty Lynn, Howard Morris, Doug Dillard, George Spence, Maggie Peterson Mancuso, LeRoy Mack McNees, George Spence, and the impersonators :Barney and Floyd. Only a few media people were there. We had the chance to ask questions and take photos.

Next was Floyd's where my brother got his hair cut. Then we went to Snappy Lunch wher ewe took turns holding each others place in line while the other shopped and took photos. Next was Walley's for more photos, then we walked around the stores some more before heading back up to the Andy Griffith Playhouse to watch the crowd in line to get autographs. Right before we left to go to dinner, the line dropped off and I got Leroy MCNees and Doug Dillrd's autographs.

Then we went to the Bluebird Diner for dinner. On the way to out hotel we discovered to our delight that the highway went right by Pilot Mountain! It really was a fun time, and we didn't do any of the "organized" stuff except the press conference.

Mt. Airy is a lovely town, well worth visiting any time of the year.
Thanks for asking!
