Does anyone know if the soundtrack to "The Love Boat Follies" - the musical episode that was on today and tomorrow, was ever recorded on tape?? I would LOVE to have this!!!!!!! Also, how many musical episodes did the show do altogether, because I know there was more than one.
As I was watching the show tonight, I was thinking to myself that this was the only "Love Boat Follies" show they actually did. It was the "first and only crew show".
I think there was an episode later in the series when they did a Hollywood movie musical--where the cast sang again, and I know that Jill Whelan (Vicki) sang "Through the years" on a later episode as well. (that I still remember this says alot about my affection for The Love Boat.)
I doubt if the soundtrack to the "Follies" would be available anywhere, but I could be wrong.
Every time I see The Love Boat Follies episodes (and I've seen it many times by now) the songs that the crew (and the guest cast) sing stick with me for hours.
I love the finale...and would love to know how this show was put together--as far as how the musical part was edited in.
This is by far one of my favorite episodes--I think Gavin MacLeod liked this one as well.

I agree, I love this episode too!! :) It always leaves me walking on air after I've watched it. I love how they use so many songs by Stephen Sondheim ("Beautiful Girls", "All I Need Is The Girl", "Everything's Coming Up Roses"). He's my favorite composer, and Gypsy is my favorite musical. I love when Ethel sings!! (and she's SO perfect as Gopher's mom - but I love all of them).
The reason I thought they did another musical show was because I'm sure I remember Doc and Vicki singing "You're just in love" on the deck, but it must have been the movie musical one.
You're right, you can totally tell that Gavin MacLeod is having fun in this episode just by watching him!!

I do have the last 1/2 of the love boat follies episode. Sorry it's not the full, but it has the big spectacular at the end plus other stuff. If your interested, let me know. scottqe2
