Hi,

There were two different stories aired on Unsolved Mysteries that took place in Carroll County Virginia. Unfortunately, I've been unable to see either one of these stories, but I would love to see them or any information anyone may have about them.

The first story was regarding the unexplained death of a Carroll County Sheriff's Office Deputy, Emery Grant Mabry.

The second story was regarding a plane crash that happened at Fancy Gap VA. The plane was involved in drug trafficing, and supposedly was carrying a large amount of cash on board. However, the cash was never found.

If you have any info (especially if it's a taped version of the story!), please email me. My email is topcop@swva.net. I'm very much so interested in learning more about these stories.

Thanks very much!!
Billy

The 2nd one is on Wallace Thrasher who I assume is still a wanted fugitive.

The 1st I believe was solved and a guy was arrested in Effingham, Illinois. I'll see if I can find any more informaiton.

If the slaying of Emery Grant Mabry was the case where the murdered cop in question reported a car whose lcense plate was inside the car at the back window, then yes, it was indeed solved. I know the murder took place in November of 1988. It was sometime in the spring of 1989 when a suspect was arrested. He was later covicted of the murder, and although the death penalty was initially sought in the case, the cop killer was sentenced to life in prison (without any hope for parole).

Hope this helps.
