I am not really into "old" movies but I do watch some of them. Most of them are disney movies from Swiss Family Robinson to The Parent Trap.

I haven't watched any silent movies, but I love the classic movies. Got to love the classics- I would say my favorite classic movie is 'A Face in the Crowd' with Andy Griffith. He sure wasn't in Mayberry in that movie! Everybody may have typecasted him as the loveable hick, in that movie he is anything but loveable. Actually, he was downright psycho in the movie.

I watched a lot of silent films when I was in school, and I still have a great appreciation for some of those actors, particularly Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Those guys were geniuses. true comedy pioneers.
I also enjoy classic stuff like the Marx Brothers. "Animal Crackers" is one of my favorite films of all time, and I also love the short comedies of Laurel and Hardy, arguably one of the best comedy teams ever to stand in front of a camera.
I pretty much saw every Abbott And Costello movie about ten times, thanks to Sunday morning reruns on Channel 11 when I was a kid.
I guess I have favorite films from all eras, way too numerous to mention.

I love the old silent movies! I really enjoy Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Lon Chaney is cool. They don't make films like that anymore.

I like a few of the old talkies but they are nothing compared to the silent.

I love classic movies. The Deep Sleep (I think that's what it's called) is a great film of the 40s. I also like the film, To Kill A Mockingbird from the 60s and It Came From Beneath The Sea from the 50s. Classic films are cool. I also like that they were filmed in black and white in those days before they had color. The films looked cool that way.

I like the older movies much better that the movies of today. I'll watch just about anything with Jimmy Stewart in it. The actors back then were much more glamorous and showed a lot more class that the actors of today. I can't think of anyone acting now who can even compare to Grace Kelly, Cary Grant, Tyrone Power, Kim Novak ect. As far as silent movies go. The only one I've ever watched all the way through was "The Kid" starring Charlie Chaplin and Jackie Coogan. It wasn't bad. Jackie Coogan was really cute in that film.

I love classics a lot. But I love silent films! I love Charlie Chaplin. I watched that movie about his life and I have to say Robert Downey Jr. did a really good job depicting him. Something about silent films make everything mysterious. You can imagine different voices and I just love the makeup of silent movie stars. It's unique. I love that film style.

I have a few silent films of The Litter Rascals on DVD. Hopefully I'll find more silent films on VHS/DVD. I did find a Charlie Chaplin set and it had a lot of his films, but it was broken so I had to take it back. Dang

I love to look at the makeup too and the style of clothing. I like Lilian Gish and alot of the 1920's stars. They are just so dramatic in their style.......

If you like Lillian Gish, and you haven't already seen the film, you might want to check out The Night of the Hunter. Turner Classics aired it last Friday, and it won't be on again this month.. unfortunately. One of the best movies I've ever seen. :)

I have always had a love for the classics. Gone With the Wind, Gilda, Rebecca, Marty, All About Eve and On The Waterfront are just a few of my favorites.

I think I go more for comedy when it comes to silent movies, because I tried watching Metropolis but I just couldn't sit through it.
Harold Lloyd is my favorite! He had great comic timing and the stunts he did were just amazing! I understand he did most of them himself. And this was before they used as many safety precautions as they do now.

I could never name all of my favorite classic movies - I want to be a film historian, so what does that tell you? ;) I do like silent movies very much, but they are hard to watch sometimes. Just wrote a seven-page paper on Fritz Lang's METROPOLIS. Gotta love that one!

I love the Classics, I haven't gotten much of a chance to watch the classics.

I quoted from Greta Garbo in "Grand Hotel" on Facebook...I want to be Alone!

And for the hell of it, I did a "Dark Side of OZ" with a Marx Brothers Film "A Night at the Opera" and "A Day at the Races" with the albums by Queen that have the same title!

I have to admit that some of the best movies ever made were produced in
the '20, '30s, '40s, '50s and early '60s (many of them in glorious black-&-white). To name but a few:

"Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" (1948)
"The African Queen" (1951)
"Bambi" (1942)
"The Birds" (1963)
"Casablanca" (1942)
"The Creature from the Black Lagoon" (1954)
"Dracula" (1931)
"Dumbo" (1941)
"Francis" (1950)
"Frankenstein" (1931)
"Godzilla, King of the Monsters" (1956)
"Gone with the Wind" (1939)
"A Hard Day's Night" (1964)
"Help!" (1965)
"High Noon" (1952)
"The Invisible Man" (1933)
"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963)
"It's a Wonderful Life" (1946)
"King Kong" (1933)
"Lady and the Tramp" (1955)
"Li'l Abner" (1959)
"Loving You" (1957)
"Mad Monster Party?" (1967)
"The Maltese Falcon" (1941)
"Mary Poppins" (1964)
"McLintock!" (1963)
"Miracle on 34th Street" (1947)
"The Mummy" (1932)
"No Time for Sergeants" (1958)
"The Nutty Professor" (1963)
"Old Yeller" (1957)
"Peter Pan" (1953)
"Pinocchio" (1940)
"Planet of the Apes" (1968)
"Psycho" (1960)
"Road to Bali" (1952)
"The Shaggy Dog" (1959)
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937)
"Stagecoach" (1939)
"Viva Las Vegas" (1964)
"War of the Worlds" (1953)
"The Wizard of Oz" (1939)
"The Wolfman" (1941)
"Yellow Submarine" (1968)

O.K. More than a "few." Not to mention the great comedy shorts (Keaton,
Chaplin, Lloyd, Laurel & Hardy, The Little Rascals, The Three Stooges, etc.)
and most of the films of The Marx Brothers.

I'm a big fan of classic movies. The best movies ever made were during the 1930s-60s.Everything about them from the stories to the great actors and actresses, the TRUE talents both in front and behind the cameras etc. The older movies are SO much better than more modern movies,it's really no comparison.Even the technicolor on the older movies looks so much better than what they film with nowadays.I do think quite a few good movies came out during the 1970s too,but after that, good movies have been few and far between.
