On the way home from my vacation last week, I stopped in Minneapolis and saw the Mary Tyler Moore statue! :happyface It looks awesome! It's just sitting out there for anyone to stop and touch or take pictures next to or whatever. And it looks so much like her. I just had to share a picture with all of you.

Congratulations Christina!!! I'm jealous too! That is so great. So is it in that actual intersection where she throws her hat up in the opening credits? And if so does it (the buildings/area/etc) look familiar, like the opening credits?

From what I know, yes, it is supposed to be the actual intersection. To tell the truth though, I couldn't tell. The buildings at each intersection look a little bit the same at the ground level, at least to me. I would imagine that some of it has changed over the years.

What I thought was interesting is that I never realized that Nicolette Mall is actually a street, although no cars are allowed to drive down it. There are busy cross streets that cross over, but the actual street doesn't have any traffic.

Although I didn't see any spots that I recognized from the song, I could imagine her walking up and down the street. I'd always wondered what they did with the cars as they showed her walking up and down the street in front of the stores. Now I know that there weren't any cars.

What I was looking for also was the building that they always close up on that is supposed to be where WJM was. From the ground level looking up, I never spotted it. I asked a few people, but no one knew. Maybe it's changed now?

P.S. Yes Kristen, you can use that picture on you web site. Or give me your email address and I will send you the original, which is bigger.

The picture's up on my site now. If you look under the "Newsflash" section on the mainpage, it should be there. (You'll have to read down a bit, there's also a bit about the DVD release there.) The link is in my siggy, of course.
