First off I love The Cosby Show and The Osbournes and it is not true that The Osbournes get better ratings than The Cosby show did, his show averaged about 35 million viewers a week compared to The Osbournes who average 6 million mainly because they are on cable but the Cosby Show did go down in history has the highest rated television show in history for being the number 1 show five seasons in a row. But to be honest it takes a really good show to become number one without any crude scripts. Which Cosby's show did. I most kids in my school know who he is we did grow up in the 80's when The Cosby show was very popular.

You've got to consider they're on MTV. MTV shows arent supposed to get high ratings.

Well, if Ozzy Osbourne was as great as you seem to think, then perhaps he would be able to get a show on one of the 4 major networks.

The truth is that the networks would never air that type of program. Granted the standards have slipped over the years, but obviously not low enough to air a program where every other word is a F-bomb.

I guess even the networks are smart enough not to air anything like that!

Wrong the networks are planning to do that type of programming. I don't even think the 4 major networks were even offered that type of program. If they would have I'm sure they would have tooken it up. Espeically ABC since they do need ratings.

Actually when ABC aired Private Ryan I beleive was the movie they left all the curse words in even F#$%.

I would hardly compare Saving Private Ryan to Ozzy Osbourne. That movie was highly regarded for it's story line, not for it it's vulgarity.

I seriously doubt that ABC would air an unedited version of this movie, but if they did, I am sure that it was a mistake.

I have watched ABC movies for many years, and have yet to see them make a mistake of a feature film. Everyone that I have viewed has been edited appropiately for television.

Hmm Well with "Saving Private Ryan" it was only for a special thing. Same thing with hte 9/11 special which had them saying the f word around 3-5 times.

I think "The Osbournes" to be a fairly good show, but I can see why some people wouldn't like it. Even though the standards have lowered in network TV (along with the FCC saying it's alright to say the f word on network TV or soemthing like that), I don't think it will lower to the Osbournes level for at least another 6 years.

BTW, this is OT but on "The Cosby Show" ratings thing, "All in the Family" is tied for the record with that show.

Actually I looked that up and that isn't true. The Cosby show is the number one show of all time their is no tie between them in that category.

Oh sorry!! I know they both tied for that. But the Cosby Show brung in ratings that the networks had not had for 30 years.

This has already gotten into a big enough fight as it is. I can understand the two sets of people on this whole board. You either like the Osbournes, or you don't. Each person is valid to his or her opinion. If you don't like, don't watch. If you like it, watch it. Simple as that. Fighting will only equal up to TJ locking this thread.

ok ill be honest... Whether u want the osbournes to go off the air and MTV to... DIE... Or not, it won't matter because 6,000,000 people will still be watching the show and those 6,000,000 people dont give a rats ass whether you want to watch Star Trek 24/7 while dissing shows that people actually watch. Its because die hard fans (like myself as well as others) want to know what he's like at home and when he's touring. See what his family is up too.
