I've posted this in the Chit Chat area, but I think it can be placed here as well:

According to NYPost.com:

Quote:NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE: ALF'S ITCHIN' TO TALK

By JON CHATTMAN

June 12, 2002 -- HIDE your cats. That '80s alien with a fetish for feline and wisecracks is poised to leave the sitcom storage closet, and make a comeback.
The furry, light-brown alien has returned to TV with a series of MCI 10-10-220 commercials and is pitching a new talk show to network and cable television.

"He'll have guests all looking for their 15 minutes of fame," says Paul Fusco, who provides the voice for the alien and co-produced the old NBC sitcom and the proposed talk show. "But Alf'll only give them four minutes. They've gotta go find their other 11 minutes somewhere else."

The original comedy ran from 1986-90. The story centered on Gordon Shumway, a resident of the planet Melmac, who moves in with a suburban family - The Tanners - after his home planet exploded. His adoptive family dubbed him ALF, as in Alien Life Form.

In town to promote a new crop of merchandise - including bobble head dolls - ALF talked to The Post about his sudden and totally inexplicable re-emergence.

Q: It's been about 10 years since your show ended, what have you been up to?

ALF: I'm still the same height - three feet one inch.

Q: You know what I mean. Your return has come out of nowhere. Have you been planning a comeback for a long time?

ALF: Absolutely. The money ran out 12 years ago. I invested in those dot-com companies. Of course, a lot of choice parts passed me by. But, I'm not bitter.

Q: Which roles?

ALF: Well, they wanted me for the "Grinch." They wanted me to dye my hair green. I'm not going to do that.

Q: How about cats?

ALF: I don't eat them anymore. The PETA people approached me - by the way, cat on pita is delicious.

Q: I hear you're trying to launch your own talk show. You on TV now. Greg the Bunny was know, there are other puppets canceled, but there's still "Crank Yankers" and Conan's Triumph ther Wonder Dog.

ALF: The only puppet that seems to be working on network television is Dan Rather.

Q: Can an Alf movie be too far off? Would you play yourself?

ALF: I'm available. Who else would play me? Rhea Pearlman?

Q: Why not?

ALF: Well, we are the same dress size.

Q: You look pretty spiffy after all these years.

ALF: I'm in my mid-200s. We live to be 600. Thankfully, we age from inside out. I'm just hitting my prime!
