Does anyone know how much Elizabeth Montgomery weighed
toward the end of her pregnancy in season two? Can anyone guess? I'm a fitness instructor and I have many pregnant women in my classes. I often use examples from TV in class.

I'm guessing that when she wasn't pregnant she weighed about 120 so when she was mabye about 150, I don't really know but she did get pretty big mabye it's 160.

Some told me that she was 180lbs. Does anyone know if
this is true?

Still Curious :)

I saw her in an interview about ten years ago. She said that she
gained about 70lbs that season while she was pregnant. That
would have made her about 190lbs. She was probably heavier
than Dick York.

She was quite large, probably 170lbs or so.

By far, she was heavier during her 2nd season pregnancy than
her 5th season pregnancy.

She was probably the most glamorous TV mom ever, and that
held true during her on screen pregnancies. She probably
weighed close to 190lbs during her season 2 pregnancy, and
maybe a little less during her season 5 pregnancy.

She was probably heavier than Lucille Ball was during her famous
pregnancy.

She probably weighed about the same as Lucille Ball. They both
were pretty close to 200 pounds. Maybe Lucy was a little heavier, but Liz Montgomery was at least 190lbs in Season 2.
She looked heavier than Darrin did!

Well, who doesn't gain weight during a pregnancy? You're carrying the weight of two (or more) people, ya know. How much or how little was healthy would be up for doctors to decide. It doesn't really matter now- her children were born healthy, and that's what's important, isn't it?

Yes, that is what is important. :)
I swear this topic comes up on every Bewitched message board.

This topic ain't so bad. If all questions asked on the boards
were answered on the shows, then we wouldn't need the
boards. I personally think Liz Montgomery looked very glamorous
during her pregnancy. Though she probably did weigh about
180lbs.

You're probably right about the 180lbs. She looked great, but she was certainly heavier than the average pregnant woman.

Well, I guess with the first two seasons coming up soon, its a good opportunity to finally settle this arguement. I say we watch the episodes of season two when she was pregnant, and finally settle this one. I have no idea why, but now I'm curious too.

Yeah lets see this weekend. I still say she was at least 170lbs.

Ok, I watched the episode "The Joker is a Card" today. I have to say that Liz looked like she weighed more than Darrin in some scenes. She was easily 180lbs when she was pregnant.

I realize that everyone's free (to a certain extent) to post any topic that comes to mind. However, this is one of the most inane topics I've seen in some time.
lisaS999
06-11-2003, 10:20 PM
Yes, the topic is a little strange, but judging by all the posts it seems like few people are bothered by it. Whats the big deal, if we talk about her weight, so what?
Novarro

TOTALLY AGREE,
Can this silly topic be laid to rest FOREVER. It keeps on surfacing every so often and really would have to be the most inane questions on the board. Take your class of pregnant women or whatever to a babyhealth clinic or expectant mothers clinic and ask them how much a pregnant woman should weigh.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!

Novarro, you need to lighten up a bit. If you don't like a post, don't reply to it.

It's not a matter of lightening up at all. You have missed the whole point. That discussion point has been appearing for ages and we need to move on now as it has been answered.

Hi, I'm new to this board and just read this thread. I have my own opinion about this but I'm a little worried that it'll be disregarded . I read the previous posts and I can see that this thread has been around for a while, so please don't get mad at me if I prolong it a little more. I sa

Sorry, my computer crashed for a minute during my post. What I began to say was that I saw those episodes as well. But I didn't think that Elizabeth Montgomery got very heavy. She may have weighed about 160-170 pounds or so, but thats only about 40 pounds more than usual. After all, she was pretty tall, about 5'9 or 5'10, right?
lisaS999
07-17-2003, 03:34 PM
That is possible, she was tall. And don't worry, my computer crashes a lot as well.

She was very big in her first TV pregnancy. We got to see the progress of it because she was in every single episode the season she was really pregnant. Still Liz was very gorgeous.

Elizabeth Montgomery was one of those woman who gained a lot of weight during her pregnancies, but she always got her figure back quickly.

10-12-2003, 01:13 PM
Wow! You weren't kidding about her gaining a lot of weight. I saw her in two episodes from the second season yesterday, and she became enormous. Not that she didn't carry it very well, but still it was quite a shock. I found this old post here and had to respond to it. She must have been close to 200lbs. Maybe 180 or somewhere around there.
lisaS999
10-14-2003, 12:27 AM
Yes she did gain a lot of weight. But there seems to be an ongoing disagreement over how much. There aren't any pictures on Liz's fan sites of her pregnant. We could really use some screen captures from those episodes if anyone has them. :) :talk: :)

Elizabeth Montgomery filmed episodes into her eighth month of pregnancy during season 2. She did not film episodes past her seventh month during the later season pregnancy. Women gain most of their weight toward the end of their pregnancies, thus explaining why she was larger during the season two pregnancy than the later pregnancy. Her third child, daughter Rebecca, weighed more at birth than either of her sons. It is also true that women tend to have larger babies with each succeeding pregnancy.

How much do you think she weighed during her eighth month in season two, maranatha?

I still say about 170lbs. Does anyone have some pictures from the latter part of her pregnancy to settle this discussion? :)

Here is the only picture I could find of her while pregnant. She only looks a few months along at the time. Does anyone have a screen capture from one of those latter episodes during her pregnancy? :)

Did anyone see "My Boss the Teddy Bear" yesterday? I saw it for the first time. Besides being incredibly funny, its the last Season 2 episode that Liz Montgomery filmed before going on maternity leave. In the episode she is HUGE! She had her son about 3 weeks after the filming. When she stands next to Dick York in this one, she looks heavier than him! She must have been at least 180lbs, more than I originally thought.

I've seen that episode too! I was like, Is she going to have the baby like... tomorrow? In the toy store scene she did look even heavier than Darin (York), and he was close to 200 pounds.

If she was 200 lbs., she certainly carried it well. I've known women who gained very little weight while pregnant, but still never felt like moving around.

This is a picture from "the Magic Cabin", an episode filmed when Liz was about 7th months pregnant. She looks like she's about 150lbs in this one. Since women gain the most weight in the last two months, she would easily have been 170lbs by the end of her pregnancy, if not more.
agatha2
12-07-2003, 03:19 PM
You're right, in that picture on the left she is pretty big for only 7 months pregnant.

In an article I read, Liz talked about getting "huge" when pregnant with her first two babies. She had about 20 pounds to lose after the birth of her first child before beginning to tape Bewitched. That would mean that she had gained about 15 pounds more than the recommended weight gain for a pregnancy. I also read where her usual weight was 122 pounds. That would mean at the end of her pregnancy she would have weighed approximately 170 pounds.
She gained less weight during her third pregnancy than she did with the first two. Her maternity leave when pregnant with her second child did not begin until she was into her eighth month of pregnancy. Her maternity leave when pregnant with her third child began when she was in her seventh month of pregnancy. This would help to explain why she appeared so much larger during her second pregnancy.

Yeah, I wonder how she managed that so gracefully? Especially with such a change in her center of balance.

She's also pretty big in this pic from "The Magic Cabin" and she's only about 6 months here.

Wow, she looks 9 months pregnant in that pic, not 6. I'll bet she weighed as much as Dick York around the time that episode was filmed.

Why does this ridiculous topic get posted on every single Bewitched board over and over again? Every time it starts over, the person asks it in the same exact way and acts like it's never been said before. Half the time it's the same person talking to themselves about the subject through various names.
I guess I just don't understand the bizarre fascination with this topic of EM's pregnancies.

lisaS999,
Clearly many of the people who have posted on this subject here are the same person. They keep saying the exact same things especially about EM being "gorgeous" and that she must have "weighed as much as Darrin"! Also, many of the names' first posts came the day they were created, which seems rather suspicious. This has happened on other Bewitched boards before, as indicated by posters with the same ISP addresses posting under multiple names.
I can't honestly believe that this topic is important to the number of people who have ranted and raved about it on here.
I'm glad you so enjoy my name.

I agree with mstewart. And maybe you two should argue elsewhere.
