Alot has been said about some of the glaring inconsistencies in Leave It To Beaver and the other classic TV shows. When those shows were made I bet no one ever thought that we would still be enjoying them and critiqueing them 40+ years and two generations later. If those shows had only been seen once or twice as was originally planned no one would ever have been the wiser to age differences, friends disappearing, neighborhood changes and such. But I am so glad the shows from the 50's and 60's never disappeared into vaults never to appear again because I for one would have nothing to watch on the "boob tube" every evening :-)

I'm glad the older shows are here to stay also. And with the inconsistencies (which is bound to happen in any show) doesn't nag me that much. I just think of it as trivia. In Episode 4, John was known by Robert or something like that. I just count the whole thing as trivia.

I wasn't complaining about the inconsistencies, just making a comment about how we all seem to notice them as the shows are shown over again. I think it's fun to try and find things like that in the older shows. I do wonder though, what the creators of the old shows think about the longevity of these kind of shows. I bet they had no idea how long the popularity would last.
