Hi Ive been a fan of Margies since I was a child.. have some collectibles such as comics.. My favorite character was Mrs. Odettes portrayed by the wonderful Gertrude Hoffman... she stole just about every scene she appeared/... I recently purchased The My Little Margie Collection, Vol I, 4 tapes, VHS 12 episodes. sadly,. The Mrs. Odettes character appears in only one episode.... very disappointed.. There is now a second volume on the market... does anyone know if Mrs. Odettes appears in more episodes...? Shell be the reason to purchase.. The show itself doesnt really hold up & good for nostalgia buffs only (like me)

I recently got as a present a 4 tape set of MY LITTLE MARGIE and so far no Mrs Odettes!! I was wondering why they didnt pick ones with her in them. Each tape says Vol 1, or Vol 2 etc...(also says classic tv #1491, 1492, 1493, 1494. It has among others--"To Health with Yoga" "A Horse for Vern", "Margie's Phantom Lover". It is VCI Home Video. Is this the set you have? And if so, which episode is Mrs. Odettes in? (I havent watched them all yet). I LOVED Mrs. Odettes too!!

I always liked the Mrs. Odettes character.
Remember Gertrude Hoffman's brief appearance in the 1953 version of War of the Worlds? She was the older woman selling newspapers.

Yeah, every time I see Gertrude Hoffman in a movie I say "there's Mrs. Odettes". She had a lot of small parts - even played a prisoner in "Caged" in 1950.

...but Gertrude W. Hoffman was featured often enough to be known as a supporting cast member. She made very few TV appearances after "MARGIE" ended in 1955. She died in October 1966, at the age of 85.

I also wondered about when Mrs. Odetts died, I'm surprised she was only 85 in 1966, she looked at least 85 in the early 1950's.

I just read on IMDB that Mrs. Odetts was actually 95 in 1966 when she died. So I was right, she was in her mid-eighties in the 1950's when she did My Little Margie.
