Went to the midnight screening as well. My friends and I got to the theater at 10pm, all ready to find a line streching all the way around in the back of the theater. Mind you, this is one of those HUGE megaplexes. Luckily, they had four showings at the same time, so the crowd spread out some. Surprisingly, we got good seats as well.
The movie itself is very entertaining. Leaps and bounds better than Episode I. Even though early on, the love story felt REALLY forced, I accepted it as it went on. I thought the scene right before Anakin and Padme go into the big arena sort of tied the romance up nicely.
The action was...simply awesome. Yoda IS the master. And Obi Wan is a savage for jumping out of that window. And Anakin IS Darth Vader, even though he's a bit whiny sometimes. Hey, but now we know where Luke gets that trait!

I want to see it really bad. I was supposed to see it tomorrow, but noooo, Mrs. Kelley had to screw it up. See, Laney was going to take us, but now since Mrs. Kelley called her parents, she's grounded. So I can't see it. :crying:
But a TON of ppl were out today b/c they saw it last night.

I've been a Star Wars FREAK for years. This movie TOTALLY exceeded my expectations. The fight scene at the end was GREAT!!! I'll be going to see this movie alot before it comes out on video.

I saw it on Thursday morning. I absolutely loved it, especially the fighting scene with Yoda. At least now
we know a part of the reason why Anakin
turned to the dark side. I don't think I'm going to able to wait 3 more years
to see the 3rd one. Does anyone think
Anakin and Padme(or whatever her name is)
was married at the end of the movie?

They are really good and original movies....Wasn't Yoda a puppet in 4-6 and now he is computer animated?

Yeah he was a puppet in 4-6 and in Episode I (I believe most if not all of those scenes used a puppet) IMO Episode II is much, much, much better then Episode I. It reminds me of the original movies more then Episode I did.

IMHO 'Star Wars' and the whole franchise that surrounds the movies is just baffling. I just don't see what's supposed to be so great about these movies. Granted, I'm not a big sci-fi fan but I have tried to appreciate the movies on a non-sci-fi level and I just find them to be a load of bunk!
Needless to say, I have no intentions whatsoever to see 'Episode 2'.
Jabba is funny though - he looks like Newman from 'Seinfeld'!

There are honestly too many reasons to explain why Star Wars affects so many people the way it does. It's a pop culture phenomenon. It did to movies what The Beatles did for music. It blew everyone away, simply. It changed the way we saw entertainment in general.
Star Wars, at it's essence, is a fairy tale, a hero's journey, that people of all ages and races enjoy and relate to.

hello! i am one who saw a 1p.m. screening here in Illinois (damn you people in New York! ;) ) I should have bragged before, so I could be in the spotlight! darn! i loved the movie! and i'm glad that i was one of the few who saw it first! yes! i know, the midnight show, but i was still one the few who saw it first. my brother has his system and got tickets, one for me...and i was just awed by the movie! i made sure to all my AIM buddies that this is officially my favorite movie of ALL time! i've been a fan of star wars my whole life, on account that i've known about it all my life, considering my brother has been a fan since 1982! i loved the scene with yoda and his duel! he was awesome! no one would know the true signifigance of this duel with yoda, unless if you've seen the 1st 3 movies (that are set AFTER episode 1 and 2, of course) and all fans of yoda loved it, including ME! he's the ****, the bomb, the most powerful jedi! i love how he acted so bad-ass, he just opened his cloak, and took out his little lightsaber, and did all his cool moves. yoda has the best duel scene throughout the whole saga! everyone, may the force be with you.

sorry. Not many fellow Illini here.
Personally, I don't like Star Wars. I don't understand Star Wars and probably never will. I have seen all but the second one and don't plan to.

I just saw it today and I must say that it was awesome!!! I have always enjoyed Star Wars and thought that it was a good movie, but I usually wait till they come out on video. But, I have been obsessed with Ewan McGregor since *looks at calender* March 22, so I HADTA see it. I must say that he is extremely hott and the best actor ever and that DID have a contributing factor in my now obsessiveness with that movie, but I still wud have thought it was a good movie if not for my freakishly obsessive obsession. AND, it was definitely worth all the cash I spent on Star Wars stuf, and all the money that I spent on magazines with pictures of him even if there was only *coughonepicturecough* although that has nothing to do with the movie itself, just with my obsession. Although, the only thing I didn't like about the movie was it caused my husband to go to Australia to film, and I hadta stay and go to skool. *Shrugs* Hey, a gurl can dream. *Turns on my tape of "Ewan McGregor Revealed"* I love you hunny, yes I do *kisses the tv screen*...u r soooooooo hott *starts making out with tv screen* :lookaroun HEHEHE... HEH...:seeya:

I just saw it it's kool!!! i was laughing so hard when yoda was fighting w/ a lifesaver, i mean litesabor lol. when it was over me and my brother were singing the yoda song that weird al sings lol "yoda, y-o-d-a yoda, yo yo yo yo yoda" :D
I finally Saw Episode 2 today and I really had a great time. It is absolutly amazing.
I have been a fan of the star wars saga longer than most of you folks have been alive (I saw Star Wars when I was seven years old back in 1977 - you do the math, I am old) so as a long time fan, the film doesn't dissappoint.
Yoda's light saber battle with Count Dooku will probably be the most talked about scene of the entire Summer movie season.
It was one of the most exciting things I have ever seen in a Star Wars film.
I realize that there are people out there who are not fans. I do not condemn you. Like any movie saga (Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord Of The Rings, James Bond) you are either a fan, or you are not. No big deal, that just means another ticket for me.
I hope to see it again next week in New York, where they are showing the digital prints of the film!
May The Force Be With You

The fact of the matter is that Lucas could do whatever the hell he wanted with 'Episode 2' - all the fanboys are gonna love it anyway just cos it's Star Wars.

Oh, how I totally disagree with you here. George Lucas did do whatever he wanted with Episode I and it SUCKED. Critics didn't like it, I thought it was boring, and fanboys ripped it apart.
I know, I was a huge Star Wars fan around the time Episode I came out and I thought it was a huge dissapointment.
Now, Episode II is a totally different story. It's just simply better.

I saw Episode two yesterday and loved it. It was at the only digital projection in the area and I was completely blown away at how amazing it looked. I have never seen anything like it and found it hard to pay attention to the plot because I was in such awe of the sharp color and detail. It is a very good movie and Lucas redeems himself after that awful episode 1. I almost didn't go and am so glad I did. It rocks!

Well, I would like to say I do, but to use the ole' "I'm not gay or anything" excuse, I can say she's very beautiful and she's a great role model. I mean, she's an actress and attending Harvard as a Psych major.
Besides, she kicked a** in "The Professional".

I saw it last night and thought it was great. I'm not a Star Wars fan, and wasn't planning on seeing it, but I got together with a couple of friends and we decided to go. I'm glad I did because it was a really good movie, and especially one particular schene with Yoda! OMG I died laughing at that. For anyone who saw it, you know what I'm talking about. For the rest of you who are lost, oh well. LOL
