Frasier & Lilith divorced on the last season of "Cheers", so
then Bebe probably decided 2 leave.
Tiff
P.S. Who thinks Ted Danson wuz better looking then on
"Cheers"? I
sure think Sam is cuter then good old Dr. Becker. (plus,
Becker yells & complains more than good old Sammy) BTW,
I'm not saying Sam is old, that's just an expression. Ted
Danson looked sooo good looking back then.
My fave is, of course, Sammy. & Diane too. Shelley Long
played Diane well. Why did she leave & why'd the show
end? :(
I luv Cheers!! (esp. Sam, he's sooo cute! & funny too!)
:) I'm in Drool City (in honor of u Sammy). Cliff is also sooo funny. His logic
makes me call him "Mr. Logic".
(I like everyone except Kirstie Alley-no offense to Kirstie fans,
but lose those shoulder pads-they're sooo outdated &
heinous!

Actually that's not true, though I thought it was up until I saw the series' last episodes a month or so ago.
When Lilith returns from the ecopod after a failed experiment Frasier takes her back. In the series finale when he and Diane catch up, he even tells her that he's happily married with a son.
Like board member Dr. Lilith-Sternin said here in another post, they probably just started out "Frasier" as havin' 'em divorced to give it's right feeling and start (and apparently, Bebe and the creators weren't aware at the time of Lilith's departure that "Cheers" was ending).
Hope that helps some!

Shelley Long left Cheers to pursue a film career. (Wrong Choice if U ask me) Cheers had a long healthy run and at the time it ended was still a solid ratings winner. I think Cheers ending was a combination of the writers wanting to end the show on top and Ted Danson no longer wanting to portray Sam Malone.
