According to the Hollywood Reporter, Richard Karn, who played Al on "Home Improvement", has been named as host of "Family Feud". He replaces Louie Anderson, and his episodes will start airing in September.

Weird choice, but I won't be sorry to see Louie go.

Certainly is an interesting choice as host. I don't think anybody even thought of Richard Karn. I don't really see as having a game show host personality, but I think he can do a good job with Feud. He seems like a very interactive kind of guy. We'll see how it turns out this fall. :)

Like I said at the GSN board, I got half my wish...his name is Richard. ;)

Anyway, I'll give him a chance. Might be good. I'm just THRILLED that Louie is GONE!!!!

Richard Karn seems to be a nice guy....I hope he brings some of his "Al Borland" personality to "Family Feud."

Hmmm....if they deal falls through, I'm always available! :D

What's wrong with Louie as host? I think he's been my favorite of the shows three versions. Dawson was an annoying flirt/kissing machine pouring on the sauve where it didn't belong. Ray Combs was too cheery, but Louie has a good ad-lib ability and comes off real friendly. Only downsides are not giving the number one answer enough and reading the questions stiffly. I'd miss him more if I still watched, but the show wore on me late last year and I've strayed away from it.

Ouch, that hurts.

And there's one reason they probably ditched him.

I like Louie Anderson as a person, but I do not think he was a good fit for this show. He would often make mistakes during this show, many of them were simple things such as reading the questions, or remembering the rules.

Richard Karn will probably do a better job than Louie Anderson, but is he the best host they could find?

I would have much rather like to see John O'hurley as the host, because he has the intelligence and personality to make the show appealing. However, I am certainly willing to give Richard Karn a fair shake, because as I stated before, this show is not as much about the host as it is the families who are competing.

As long as the host knows the rules, and can keep the show moving, he will be successful.

It is unfortunate that Louie was unable to master this task.
