Does anyone else remember this show? It was on CBS from 1996 to 2000. I really liked it the first 2 seasons.

I remember Early Edition. I watched it from the very first show but by the last season I stopped watching it and didn't even see the last episode. I guess it was the changes--too many people knew about the paper, even the heros girfriend. But those first seasons were the best!

The last 2 seasons weren't that great. I prefer the first 2 seasons. I lost interest when Chuck left and they brought on that woman and her kid.

I remember the show! It used to air at 7PM CST on Saturdays whenever it was on. I think that was the only time slot for it. I rather enjoyed the show. I am kind of ticked that they took that show off.

I liked this show somewhat. I agree, the last two seasons were rather bad.

I watched it alot during the late 90s when it aired on Global TV in Canada. It was such a cool show! One of the best dramas of the 90s.

The cancellation of this Series is IMO the beginning of the decline of TV that has plagued us this past decade. :( On a Saturday Evening in 2000 I looked at the TV listings in my Newspaper, saw that Early Edition was scheduled to be on, and tuned in, only to be greeted by some cheesy Game Show. Thinking it was a pre-emption I let it go, but for the next three weeks the TV Listings listed EE as still being on, but instead was the Game Show, finally I called the Station an was told EE had indeed been cancelled.

Sadly, it wasn't the first. In the next few years, Show after Show VANISHED from the scene, only to replaced by either:

1. A Game Show

2. A News Show

3. One of those newfangled "Reality" Shows.

I "Migrated" to Cable and for a few years I was still able to find SOMETHING to watch, but things began changing there as well, and not for the better. The Commercial breaks began to become more frequent, and the number of Commercials on those breaks began to increase as well. One day I took a Stopwatch to those breaks, and it came out to TWENTY MINUTES! The Quality of Commercials also headed south as Advertisers began presenting their Messages in what seems to be the most OBNOXIOUS manner Possible. Then the Prescription Messages made their Appearance, not bad at first, but then they began to push those pills that dealt with various "Bodily Functions" including Sex.  :angryfire

Fortunately, a new Item was making the scene, the DVD. Whole TV Series could be placed on a Set of these Disks, which made owning these Series Possible. Expensive at first, by the Middle of the '00s the price began coming down, to a point where you could purchase AN ENTIRE SERIES for as little as $5.00. After seeing one of those "Bodily Function" Pill Ads on a Children's Show in 2006 I cam e to a Conclusion TV was no longer worth paying a Subscription for, so I cancelled that Subscription, and switched over to DVDs.

My Signature bears witness to how I have done since I "Cut the Cord". Most of those Disks were purchased using Money that was formerly used to pay for that Subscription.

As for Early Edition I have the first two seasons on DVD, and since they didn't release the next two Seasons "officially", I got those from "Somewhere Else"!

I love Early Edition! I watched this show in its original run on CBS, but I didn't discover it until around the start of Season 2. From there forward though, I was faithfully watching every Saturday night. It's such a great show with positive values and inspiring messages of faith, hope and love. It never claimed to be any kind of a religious show or anything, but it was definitely encouraging for me as a Christian as I could see a lot of Christian values in the show. (Though obviously it had its failings on that point too.) But overall, it's a great, exciting, funny, interesting and at times quite moving show. I am so glad to have Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD now and I really hope CBS/Paramount releases Seasons 3 and 4 to DVD soon too!!!
(Of course, I'd still love to see Kyle Chandler and Fisher Stevens and Shanesia Davis do a reunion TV-movie or something, but it seems doubtful that would happen. But you never know...):)
