Frasier and Lilith never would have broken up.
We would finally get to see Vera in the final episode.

That Bebe Neuwirth would have been a full-fledged cast member every season! :D
And I agree with Kristen about Frasier and Lilith not breakin' up. But since she covered that first, I thought I'd stand up for Bebe bein' a full member full-time. :)

A lot of great points shown already. Obviously, I agree with previous posts in saying that Shelley should not have left the show. Also, I know that this sounds cliche, and many people are glad it didn't happen, but Diane and Sam should have been married in the last episode of the series. It couldn't have hurt anything in the script or the plot because the series was over. I think that after all of the years we "spent" with Diane and Sam, we Diane and Sam fans deserved to see our favorite couple finally married. Also, I, too, thought that Frasier and Lilith were absolutely wonderful together. They should not have split up. I don't think that, besides these things, I would change anything. The show was sheer perfection.;)

... i also agree that bebe shouldve gotten her name on the show from the beginning. she was a very valuable part of the cast from when she first signed on! and when she finally did, she left! i think i saw 2 episodes with her name in the theme because of nan being so dumb.
FOLN@NFan - i didnt know that!!..hey guys we saw vera!

I'll admit that I did like a lot of the insults between Diane and Sam or Carla, but I still didn't like the character. Shelley Long is a good actress though.

One of my pet peeves about sitcoms is the seemingly madatory inclusion of a "dumb" character who is supposed to be funny. But much more often than not he or she is usually just dumb. It wasn't a huge problem for me on Cheers, but I always found Coach's character and lines not so funny. He (Nicholas Colsanto) was somewhat endearing, though, so I tolerated him better that Woody Haralson, who I just never did like from the beginning to the end. And I still don't. A little prejudice, maybe, but sitcoms are like sports--it's one area in which unreasonable prejudices don't hurt anybody too much.

i know what your saying.. i dont like that sometimes in sitcoms in general.. i know what you mean with coach, although i still luv em.. but woody for some reason never bothered me.. sometimes ill just stare and be like wow how could he not.. and things like that, but he didnt bother me so much on this sitcom.. very good point though!
i think that cheers shouldve been set it nj.. so id have the bar right here and not have to take a train for 3 hours!

hey i agree with ya all the way there, sometimes sitcoms have an a very bad and iritating way of making the DUMB CHARACTER THE BUT OF ALL THE JOKES AND USING SOMEWHAT THE PURPOSE AND THE CHARACTER IS JUST BASICLLY THE COMIC RELIEF SADDLY,BUT I DON,T REALLY THINK CHEERS IS STILL QUIT GUILTY OF THAT,I REALLY THINK THEY WENT SERIOUSLLY OUT OF THERE WAY TO MAKE THE CHARACTER COACH A VERY GUINUINELLY LIKEABLE AND LOVEABLE CHARACTER WHO WAS SIMPLE SOMEWHOW YET VERY INTERESTING,COACH HAD SOME OTHER REDEMING QUALITES TO HIM THAT MOST STANDARD SITCOMS DUMB CHARACTERS DON,T USALLY HAVE,so i guess that is another thing that makes cheers stand out for that, allthough i do realize that he was somewhat of a sterotype, but i still really liked him alot and i guess woody was still simpler and not as one dimentional in my personal opnion, but i really liked his character alot as well, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm AS FOR THINGS I WOULD CHANGE SAM MALONE WOULD BE EXACTLLY LIKE SAM MALONE IN THE BEGINIG AND HE WOULD NEVER HAVE TAKEN OFF HIS TOUPE HAHAHAHAHAHA,LOL,but i guess i would also have sam and diane stay together, since shelley long had to leave the show if they continued with the rebbeca years i would still have him engaged to diane and they could still get married sometimes and just mention that diane was there and that he was going to marry her sometime and leave it exactlly simpley like that and have them get married in the end,and or maybe just say they were engaged and leave it like that and maybe shelley long could guess star as diane chambers season about 2 or 3 times,i defintilly think that would work,i wish the writers would have tried something like that, maybe shelley could agree to guess star very ocasionlly just to make it work and show us are favorite couple back in action and to show us that they are still together, what do you guys see about that, well these are just afew thoughts and ideas,LOL CHEERS!

Okay, Bebe was on Season 4 once, for about 5 minutes. It was in "Second Time Around." Because she just stole everyone's hearts in those five minutes, they asked her back in Season 5 for "Abnormal Psychology." Obviously she was a big hit, and she was on once more in that season in "Dinner @ 8-ish." She became a recurring character in Season 6 and was only a lead character in Season 10, until she requested to be written out to pursue film and go back to the theatre. So, she is billed on Season 10 episodes in the opening credits.
That Bebe Neuwirth would have been a full-fledged cast member every season!
Totally agree with ya there, babe! We can't be greedy, though. We should be grateful she was on as often as she was. She has stated that she HATES working in a TV setting. They rehearse 5 days a week and film one day. She likes to perform more than rehearse (and I honestly can't say I blame her! Rehearsing sucks... its the performing that ya live for).
I still HATE how they split up Frasier and Lilith. Making her cheat on him was just wrong. Then she sleeps with his brother years down the road. What are these writers thinking??? Oy, my head.
*sigh* But what are you going to do? I'll have to write my own sitcom some day and beg Bebe to star in it. Or better yet, Lilith should get a spin off of Frasier. That wouldn't work though. Spin offs of spin offs never work. :( How cool would that be, though??

If I could change 1 thing would be tricky. Here are the things I would
change:
1. Diane would stay & she & Sam would marry.
2. Coach would be there. (I miss him a lot)
3. No Rebecca (no offense to Kirstie Alley fans, but I much prefer Shelley
Long (aka Diane). Those shoulder pads of hers are so heinous!
Tiff-Cheers fan to the extreme! I watch it every night-& get mad when
I can't see Sammy, Norm, Carla, Frasier, Coach, Cliff, Rebecca, Diane, &
Woody. Sammy's my fave! He sooo cute! (is that his real hair-I'm just
curious)

I like Shelley Long as an actress, I just didn't like the Diane character.
cheers freak

I also cannot stand the character of Diane. I am a big fan of the Rebbecca years. Although I do like the Diane years as well. I guess Diane was one of thoese characters i loved to hate lol. So i dont wish the diane years weren't there. I dont know. Cheers was so great alll 11 seasons I dont know what to say. I'll think of something.........IM NUTS!lol

there we go! the answer to everything.. and wait a couple more years so they all age gracefully.. and have rebecca, diane, lilith, carla, & vera on there own series.. and we'll call it "The Golden Girls.. Part II" LoL imagine carla in her old age? still pregnant, (hey.. it could happen.. i read in enquirer! [lol]), Diane bugging Sam, Carla wanting to kill Diane.. and lilith walking around singing broadway tunes and dissing people.. (She did that in a couple episodes!) oh and rebecca married to a really rich OLDER guy! lol thatd be sad though....
