Jinny's High School Re-Union...

Hey...here's another fanfic..by me. It's about Jinny's high school re-union and she'll like remember her high school years and stuff. Everyone will be in it, not just Jinny. :D

here goes...


....8:20 AM at the SFPD Division...

Captain McCafferty comes out of her office and looks at Magda, then to the empty desk.

Cap:She's late, isn't she?
Mag: Cap, please just give her some room here.
Cap:I'm trying to Mag but she's been late practically this whole week.
Mag:Yeah well, home life hasn't been great for her.
Cap:Why? What happened?
Mag:I dunno...she's just not like herself anymore. She's depressed. A lot lately.
Cap:Hmm...
Mag:Please don't you know?
Cap:*looks around the room and notices Raina talking to CD and Nate* Eh...ok, this is the last time. Tomorrow I want her in here no later than 8. got that?
Mag nods.

The Captain leaves to go talk to Raina and Cd and Nate. Magda lets out a deep breath.

Cap:So..what have we got here?
CD:Uh, well this girl was complaining she was abused by her father but the police didn't do anything.
Nate:She's from outta state.
Cap nods.
Raina:Anyway, so the police didn't do anything becuase her dad was some big shot lawyer or sumthin, so they just like let him off the hook.
Nate:From what her friends say there were more than a couples of incidents.
Cap nods.
Raina:Anyway...she came in here this morning and she told us all this.
Cap:So....
Nate:So cap she was being abused, we're the authorities, we have to do something.
Cap:She's from outta state.
CD: Does it matter where she's from? Child abuse laws are the same everywhere.
Cap sighs, and notices that Raina was not as enthusiatic as she usually is. The cap then looks around the room and sees Jinny walking in, exactly 30 minutes late.

Jinny to herself:Great...I'm late...again. I wonder if the cap will say sumthing. She hasn't said much all this week and I've been late everyday.

The Cap and Jinny exchange glances.....

Mag:Hello.
Jin:Hey, what's wrong?
Mag:Why should something be wrong? What just cuz I said hello and not hey?
Jin:Woa, Mag calm down.
Mag:I'm sorry, I didn't get much sleep last night, I'm a bit cranky.
Jin: Oh, why? *pauses* If u wanna talk about it.
Mag:Gabe didn't come home last night.
Jin:So...?
Mag:So, he didn't call. I'm getting worried.
Jin:Mag, he doesn't have to check in every five minutes.
Mag:i know, look can we talk about something else, please?
Jin:yeah..
Mag:Why are u late, again?
Jin:I'm sorry.
Mag:I know, ur always sorry.
Jin: ok.
Mag:Jin, I'm serious, it looks like ur going back to ur old habits *wags her finger*
Jin:Listen-it won't happen again. I'm gonna go get coffee. Did the cap give us our assignment yet?
Mag:no, she was waiting for u.
Jin:ok.

Jinny gets her cup that's blue and says "SFPD", she walks over to the coffee and pours herself a cup. She hadn't had time to get some this morning

Jinny gets her mug that's blue and says "SFPD", she walks over to the coffee and pours herself some. She hadn't had time to get some this morning since she was running late. Jinny finishes pouring her coffee and puts the pot back into place. She walks back to her desk. She does not notice Raina, who bumps into her.

Raina:Woa, sorry.
Jin:Omg, I didn't see u. Sorry. Did I get any on u?
Raina:No, it's ok.

Jinny walks past Raina put stops dead in her tracks. She cannot believe what she is seeing. Her mug drops out of her hands, falls to the floor and shatters to hundreds of tiny pieces. But Jinny cannot see that. She does not know that. All she's focoused on is the sight in front of her eyes.

Magda attempts to bring Jinny back to reality after she notices the broken mug in front of her feet.

Magda:JINNY! *waits a minute, no answer, Jinny doesn't even move* J-I-N-N-Y!!

Obviously Magda is not looking at what Jinny is looking at, because if she was, she'd be joining Jinny.

Finally Jinny comes back to reality.

Jinny:H-h-h-how? W-w-hen? W-w-hy?
Magda:Jinny? What the HELL are u talking about?

Jinny doesn't not notice Magda said that, which was very strange for Jinny.

Jinny just points to the direction she's looking at. Magda follows her finger and looks right where Jinny had been looking the past 3-5 minutes.

Magda: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Jinny:W-w-hen? W-why? H-how? W-what?
Magda:Woa.
Jinny:WHEN?!?!?!? WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?!?!?!
Magda just clears her throat. She knew that when Jinny got like this, it was best to stay out of the way.

Jinny spots Nate walking by.

Jinny:NATE! *she has that deathly tone of voice*

When Nate hears her tone, he picks up his pace.

Jinny:NATE! *Magda is right behind Jinny*
Nate:*turns around* What?
Jinny:WHEN?!?! *points to the hall*
Nate:*clears his throat* Well, I thought, she thought u knew.
Jinny:She's supposed to be my "friend" *Jinny does those little quotation signs with her fingers*
Nate:yeah..well, umm-
Magda is just standing there, not saying anything.
Nate:Well they-
Jinny:THEY?!
Nate:Theodore and...

So do not blame me when ur telling ur story to the jury :but it was sooo real..I wanted to teach him a lesson....now he'll never do it...." ok! :D


Magda:Jin, hunny-
Jin:Damn it, don't call me hunny!
Nate:woah...
Raina: I couldn't help overhearing-
Jinny: *laughs* no, cuz then u wouldn't be u, would u?
Raina gives her a hurt look, but Jinny just brushes it off, ignoring it completly. This made Raina even more hurt. She knew Jinny joked in her own way, but this was low. WAY LOW. She kept thinking that no one deserved this, no one. Jinny had been treating her like...well not really like dirt but she hadn't been going out of her way to make Raina feel welcome. When Raina first came in Jinny just shook her hand. The only time the two talk is when Raina is giving her and Mag some 411 on a case. And Raina couldn't help feeling...alone. She had had enough, she was gonna speak up, right now. She was sick of all of this just building up inside of her, and with her current situation, outside of work, she couldn't afford that.

Raina:YOU KNOW WHAT, JINNY? I HAVE HAD IT! *Jinny looks suprised, she has no idea where this is coming from* EVER SINCE U SAW ME...OH LOOKS IT'S RAINA...SHE'S NOT ONE OF US SO, WE DON'T HAVE TO TALK TO HER...JUST A "HI RAINA" EVERYDAY IS ENOUGH! I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH U FOR LIKE 6 MONTHS NOW, AND I AIN'T GOIN' NO WHERE...SO U MIGHT AS WELL GET USED TO ME!
Jinny:Raina, calm down-
Raina:NO! DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, THANK U VERY MUCH....*Leaves the division crying*
Jinny:*lets out a deep breathe* Jesus, I wasn't bagging on her. It's just...I mean, hello, CD AND TEDDY!
Mag:I know, but I mean, we haven't been too friendly.
Nate:Yeah, I'll admit it. We haven't invited her to go to the bar with us in the longest time. *Jinny felt hurt and left out now, she knew they were probably going to the bar after work, after all, they always did, but she thought they'd at least do something else with her. She now knew how Raina felt*

Jinny:Yeah...anyway...what do I do about this...
Mag:Just, calm down, and breathe.
Jin:No problem, u don't need to breathe to murder someone.

She leaves Nate and Magda and starts walking to CD and Teddy. She wasn't prepared for this and had no idea what to say.

Jinny:CD?!

*Both CD and Teddy turn around*

CD:Jinny..listen I can explain.
Jinny:*crosses her arms* Really? Well...go ahead...ADA Blumenthal...ur next.
CD:Well...

Just then someone walks up to Jinny.

Girl:Excuse me, Jinny Exstead? *mispronounces Exstead and says it Icsteed*

Jinny turns around to face her past......

Mary:Well...I guess I should tell you about myself *just as Jinny was about to return to CD and Teddy, she stops, looking annoyed* You see...I'm the secretary for Bay High School.

Mary:I've been trying to reach you all week! I'm so glad I finally caught you!
Jinny gives her a questionin look.
Mary:It's your 17 year high school re-union next week.
Jinny:Class of '85....
Mary:mm-hmm...anyway...do you plan on coming?
Jinny:well...I just heard about it...
Mary:Oh....well listen, here's my card...call me, tell me yes-yes or no-no! Hopefully yes-yes! Then we'll see you at the re-union!

Jinny hated her already and it had nothing to do with the re-union. She was just so damn perky and Jinny hadn't been perky..since she and Teddy were together. Suddenly Jinny remembered Teddy and CD...the traitor...and turns to talk to them.

Jinny: oh...my god.

Jinny stared out at her car. Well...the thing that used to be her car. Someone had totally vandalised her car.

On the car they had written words such as: slut, drunk, bitch, etc.

Jinny could not believe that something like this had happened, especially at work....at a police station.

Jinny starts walking towards her car...unable to say anything.

Just then Raina appears from out of nowhere.

Raina: oh hey Jinny.
Jinny: *just stares at her car*
Raina: *did not notice the car and starts to think "here we go again", then she notices the car* ooooh god. Jinny what happened?
Jinny: umm....i uh, i dunno. *laughs* i just came out here and found it like this.
Raina:how horrible.
Jinny:yeah.
Raina:listen, we'll go upstairs, tell the cap, i'm sure she'll do something.
Jinny:no, really I've uh...been through this before. You know, some student who prob. got a ticket for illegal parking or sumthin. *shrugs*
Raina:*not buying it* uh huh. well..anyhow, i still think we should tell the cap.
Jinny: no, raina. i really do not want to get involved in anything right now.

Just then....out of nowhere a guy appears with a gun.

He shoots, missing Jinny by just a few inches.

But he gets Raina instead.

Raina: oohhhhh. *drops down because of the pain*
Jinny: *looks so amazed and confused and was not expecting this* *gets out her gun* *starts yelling, but by know the shooter was long gone* CALL 911!! DAMN IT. *grabs her cell phone* officer down, officer down.....*gives the guy all the directions and info*

Everyone from the division is outside by now.

Cap: What the hell happened?!

Jin:uh...uh...

*the ambulence arrives and puts Raina on a stretcher, they leave*

Jin:I came outside and my car...it's vandalised and then Raina came and then before I knew it....someone shot her.
Mag:Jin, are you ok?
Jin:I'm ok, but I don't think Raina is.
Mag:Yeah, I know, I'm sorry.
Jin:*shakes her head* why does this always happen?
Mag:What?
Jin:First Andy Danzinger and know...Raina.
Cap:Listen, Jinny it is not your fault about what happened, ok?
Jin:Yeah...umm are you guys going to the hospital?
Cap:Yeah...I'll call CD and Nate.

Cap and Mag start to leave and notice that Jinny was not following.

Mag:Jinny?
Jin:Umm....I, I can't go. I can't.
Cap:I know you're saying that now.
Jin:No, I can't...can't go now. Tell her I'll come back.
Cap nods and leaves.

Mag:You ok?
Jin:I'm..I've been better.
Mag:You want a ride home.
Jin:no..I gotta report this *motions to her car* then I'll go home to Dad's.
Mag: ok.
Jin: call me with any updates.
Mag:will do.

.....So Jinny goes back inside the Division and files a report and does everything. They said she would have to leave her car for evidence so Jinny ended up taking the taxi.

She finally reaches her dad's house. She puts her key into the lock not expecting what to she was going to expect.

She opens the door and her eyes nearly fly out of their sockets.

JohnSr:*surprised, so surprised* JINNY!! :eek:
Jin:Uh...
JohnSr: *starts buttoning his shirt* Jinny, meet Erica.
Erica: *in a sexy voice* Hello Jinny.

Jinny just stares back and forth not knowing who to kill first.

She frantically searched her room for what she wanted...

She went through her drawers, closet, and finally under her bed.

Jinny:AHA!! *holds up a bottle of vodka*
Jin: All saved for a special occasion.

Jinny opens it and locates the nearest glass. It was a plastic cup, but it would do just fine.

Jinny poured some vodka into the red plastic cup. She remembered doing this back in high school. Until that night when something happened at a party....something she knew she'd never forget....

Jinny quickly brushed the thought away.

She took one look around her room and couldn't help to laugh at her pathetic life.

She took the plastic cup in her hand.....

she took the plastic cup in her hand and spent the next 15 mins coming up with pros and cons for taking this drink...

Jinny took the plastic cup up to her mouth.

Her lips were touching the cup.

She started to raise the cup.

Then, she stopped.

Jinny, to herself, "how the hell can you be so stupid jin? after all the crap you put yourself through while drinking and after drinking and now you're gonna give it all up and start all over? I can't do this, I can't drink..."


Just then, her dad walked in, without knocking.

He stared right at the plastic cup and noticed the open bottle of vodka on Jinny's nightstand.

JohnSr: Jinny....
Jin:No, it's not what you think it is.
JohnSr: I was so proud of you for not...drinking. *sighs*
Jin: YOu think I would drink?
JohnSr: What's it look like?
Jin: I can not believe this...
JohnSr: Jinny!
Jin: *turns around, pointing her finger* don't "jinny" me, "dad."

JohnSr. knew his daughter was in one of her "moods." He hadn't seen her in one of them for a while, but he remembered them all too well. They started when her mom killed herself. He knew the best thing to do was give Jinny some space.

Jinny left, still angry at her dad.

She started walking, no idea where she was heading.

All of a sudden she starts thinking about Teddy. "What happened to us? I've been wondering for so long, I just gotta know. Just gotta...."

One thing led to another and Jinny was headed somewhere she least expected.

Jinny to herself "My high-school re-union's in a few days, and I'm going here?"

She walked inside the apartment buidling and walked up the flight of stairs. Then, she took a right and was in front of room B42.

Jinny sighed.

"This is it," she told herself.

She knocked the door.

No answer.

She knocked again.

Teddy *inside the apartment* "coming!"

She started feeling weak. Her knees were not functioning like they usually do. She hadn't felt this way for a while.

She could feel Teddy coming closer. She thought this was stupid.

She heard the sound of the lock coming un-done.

"Obviously he didn't look at me through the little peep whole thingy otherwise, he wouldn't be opening it..." she said to herself.

Teddy opened the door and there he was.

With nothing on but a towel.

He was shocked to see Jinny of all people there.

Jinny couldn't move.

She started wondering why she came here and blaming herself. But, she couldn't come up with what she was blaming herself for.

Teddy: Jinny?

Jinny was still strugling to say something. All she did was scan Teddy over.

Speaking of Teddy, he was completely amazed that she was here.

"What does she want?" he thought to himself.

Jinny: You know what, it's not that important....

Jinny left the apartment building in a hurry.

She couldn't do it. She thought she would be able to, but she just couldn't.

She wanted so badly to ask Teddy why he had given up already, on them. But, she couldn't muster the strength to ask him.

"Pathetic, or what?" she thought to herself.

She started walking, again not knowing where she would end up.

She just walked and walked.

Finally she saw something that caught her eye.

It was her dad and his new secretary erica!

She saw that her dad saw her.

"Well, no point in running," she said outloud.

An elderly lady walked by, looking her up.

Next, appaled Jinny.

Gotta go sign up to volunteer at the local hospital. happy birthday lauren!!!!!!!!!!!

What Jinny saw was the elderly lady being robbed.

Lady: HELP!!!
Jinny: SFPD! FREEZE!

Jinny's dad turned around too see what was going on.

Jinny grabbed her gun which she still had on, for some strange reason, and started chasing the guy for two blocks.

She lost him after the second block.

She went back to the elderly lady and made sure they were ok.

John Sr: Jinny, are you ok?
Jinny: Uh, yeah. Ma'am, are you all right?
Lady: *shaken up* that man, he took my purse.
Jinny: I know, listen, I'm Inspector Exstead. I need you to come with me down to the division to make a statement. can you do that?
Lady: What for?
Jinny: *Thinking...."Obviously she doesn't watch cop shows." end of thinking* To help catch the bad guy! *trying to be happy*
Lady: uh...fine.

Jinny and the old lady, who's name was maggie, got into a cab and went to the division.

Inside the division....

Jinny: Cap.
Cap: Hey.
Jinny: This is Maggie, she was robbed today. I saw it happen. Near 57th street. I chased the guy for about a couple of blocks but he was just too fast.
Cap: *nods* ok. come with me, maggie.

She took maggie into the witness room. She went back outside before questioning her.

Jinny: How's raina doing?
Cap: *sighs* not good. umm...something happened, but they've got her stabilized now. they don't know if she'll make it through the night.
Jinny: *sighs* *shakes her head* you know, that guy was shooting for me. for me, not her. he missed me by an inch. i feel so guilty.
Cap: Well, go visit her.
Jinny: *nods* yeah.
The cap starts walking away but jinny grabs her arm.
Jinny: Listen, that guy, *points to maggie* umm...I think he may be the one who shot raina. i dunno. it was hard to tell. it was dark you know?
cap: yeah. ok, listen jin. we'll take it from here. go get some coffee or something and visit raina. i know you've got that re-union to get to tomorrow.
Jinny: *nods* cap? thanks.
Cap: *nods and walks away*

Jinny started to walk away and saw magda.

Jinny: Hey mag. I'll see you later ok.
Mag: *staring ahead*
Jinny: Mag? What's wrong?
Mag: Omg, I can't believe it.
Jinny: WHAT?!?!? What happened?
Mag: oh jinny. calm down. ben fractured his foot during his soccer game today.
Jinny: *sighs* geez, you scared me. i thought something bad had happened.
mag: *eyes nearly pop out* this is bad!!!!
Jinny: magda, magda. calm down. it happens to all the kids.
mag: *sighs* i guess....
jinny: at least he doesn't have to stay in the hospital or anything.
mag: yeah, you're right.
jinny: *smiles* of course.
mag: you coming in tomorrow right?
jinny: uh, no. i've got my high school re-union tomorrow.
mag: you do?
jinny: sorry, i thought you knew.
mag: no, it's ok. things have been crazy around here since raina got shot.
jinny: yeah, i know. i'm gonna go visit her right now. call me if you need anything, ok?
Mag: ok. oh, and jinny, have fun at the re-union.
Jinny: oh, yeah. loads of fun. *laughs*


She went downstairs and got a coffee to go. Then, she went outside and got a taxi and went to go visit Raina.

....The lobby....


Jinny: excuse me, can you tell me what room raina washington is in?
Lady: Umm...let me just check. Yes. Room 342.
Jinny: 342. thanks.
Lady: Yeah. sure.

The lady got a weird feeling from jinny so she decided to call security. Jinny saw what she was doing and reached for her badge. She showed it to the lady.

Jinny: Inspector Exstead, SFPD. I work with officer washington.
Lady: Oh, um, I'm terribly sorry Inspector. Sorry.
Jinny: *nods* yeah...

Jinny got into the elevator and went to the third floor. she went up to room 342 and stood outisde the door, looking at the "342" sign.

Jinny to herself: room 342. yep. here we are. let's go in jinny.....

Jinny opens the door and goes in.
When she gets inside she takes a moment to take a look around. Jinny: *sighs* Damn, the ICU looks better on ER. *sighs* *sees Raina*

She walks over to Raina, who's sleeping, and pulls a chair next to her. She takes her hand in hers.

Everything is silent for a long time. The only sound you can hear is the beeping of Raina's machines.

Raina wakes up.

Raina: *smiles* Hey!
Jinny: *laughs* You're in the ICU and yet, you still do that. *smiles*
Raina: how you doing?
Jinny: How am I doing? I think the question should be how are you doing?
Raina: How's it look?
Jin: *sighs* I'm sorry.
Raina: Don't be.
Jin: It's all my fault. My god...*shakes head*
Raina: Seriously Jin, *takes her hand out from under Jin's and wipes a tear from Jinny's eye* I'm ok.
Jin: but, still. If I hadn't been so caught up in what had happened to my car and paid more attention, you wouldn't even be here.
Raina: Listen, Jin, *gets interrupted*

Nurse: I'm sorry, but visiting hours are over.
Jinny: Yeah. *nods* Can we just, have a minute?
Nurse: Sure.

After the nurse leaves, Raina starts again.

Raina: Jinny, it's not your fault, damn it. It's no one's fault but the guy who shot the bullets.
Jin: They're working on gettting him.
Raina: Well, they can't be getting far without me.
Jin: *looks at Raina*
Raina: It's a joke.
Jin: OOh. *laughs* Listen, I gotta go.
Raina: Yeah. Oh, thanks for stopping by. Have fun at your re-union.
Jin: How'd you know?
Raina: Eh...Raina knows everything. *laughs*
Jin: *laughs* Get better, promise?
Raina: That I can do.

Jinny leaves the room and heads out of the hospital.

Jinny to herself: Well, I guess I gotta go get some sleep. Got that re-union thing tomorrow.

*Hears something in the bushes. Sees a figure*

Jinny: *calls out* Who's there? Hello? *no answer*

To herself: Ok, I'm paranoid. *starts shaking head*

She leaves.
