It looks like they are going to make a Honeymooners movie. I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand I want classic shows like the Honeymooners to remain untouched. I think it would be difficult for someone to fill the shoes of the great Jackie Gleason. This decision clearly shows that Hollywood is beginning to run out of ideas for movies, so they must draw from the past by recreating television characters for the big screen.
On the otherhand, I think that it gives a new generation a fresh look at the Honeymooners.
So with this said, should Hollywood tamper with a classic show such as the Honeymooners, by casting someone other than Jackie Gleason as Ralph, or someone other than Art Carney as Norton?
If so, then there is no sitcom that is off limits.
Where do we draw the line?
