Well, I made it home safe and sound. :)
I tell ya, I had a BLAST in D.C. I was able to do SO many things while I was there.
We were invited to the Australian Embassy; we were able to go to the Old Executive building of the White House and meet with Carl Rove and get our picture with him; we were able to go to the South Lawn of the White House and see President Bush leave on Marine One (I swear he was less then 10 feet from me. He was coming over to shake our hands but his people told him he couldn't b/c of time restraints); we were able to take a tour of the White House; we had a special screening of the new Nicholas Cage movie to be released in June called Windtalkers (Excellent movie! I could do without some of the gore, but overall a GREAT movie. If you want to know more about it then go here (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0245562) )
My film is at the store now. As soon as I get them back, I'll post some up here.
Hope everybody had/is having/will have a great Spring Break.

The Jefferson Memorial is my favorite too. Did you see any of the war memorials, like the Vietnam wall or Iowa Jima?

I did not get a chance to see the Iowa Jima memorial (that was one I really wanted to see, but just never had the chance :( ) but I did go to the Vietnam Wall, the Korean Memorial, we saw where the WW2 memorial is going to be, and we saw the Womens Memorial while we were at Arlington Cemetery.
The Vietnam Wall really surprised me. I mean, I knew it was really long and all, but I had NO IDEA that it got that high. That was a good wake up call there ya know? 53,000 + names on that wall. My dad knows too many who are listed there. To this day he refuses to go and see it. I'm glad I got the chance.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Ags. I've never been to D.C. but I really want to go someday. Sounds like you had fun.

This is a picture I took at Arlington Cemetery. This is where President Kennedy, Jackie and 2 of their children are burried. The eternal flame is also shown in the picture.

On to happier things now...
This was taken on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial looking out over where the reflecting pool should be at the Washington Monument.

They had it drained so that they could clean out the sludge.

Oh, that explanis a lot. You're lucky you got to see the president. Did you actually got a chance to talk to him? When I was in D.C. Clinton was still in office, but he wasn't in D.C. at the time, although I did get to see the White House. And I could have sworn I saw Chelsea (sp?) in a window of the white house looking at me. Honest! Or maybe it was Hillary? Oh well, anyway I hope you had a good a time as me! :D

LOL, I went to DC in the fifth grade as a class trip. We stayed there for a week. Had a blast! Saw the white house, many memorials, musuems, stayed at a high-class hotel, fed the ducks.....Great time!

We were supposed to, he was going to speak at our Dinner the last night we were there, but something came up at the last minute so he sent over a video tape he made for us instead.
