Hi! I'm new to the board. Looks like a good one!
I was wondering if anyone had any info on the jazzy closing theme for The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Ideally I'd like a file if anyone has one to download or can direct me to where I can find it. My family always got up and danced to that song when the show was over and I can still remember the tune. Does anyone even know the name of that song, or who wrote/performed it?
Thanks mucho,

I sent you an e-mail with this in it:

Hi. I saw your post in the sitcoms forum and I have been looking for
the same song myself for about 43 years. I had first heard the song at
about age 8, when the closing credits on the show started. That song
made me a lifelong jazz lover in an instant. I thought it was the most
beautiful song I had ever heard. I'd desperately like to get a copy of
it.

I think I have it narrowed down. According to another member of the
forum, the song name is Malt Shop Blues. And the possible arranger is
Jimmie Haskell. I was able to dig up this info also:

End Credits Theme 5 (circa 1961): "[The] Nelson Family Theme"

[This may have been arranged by Jimmie Haskell...the
THEME is a kind of boogie style blues which has no discernable
tune for the melody, but seems rather improvised...]

Composer: Ozzie Nelson (ASCAP)
[professional name of Oswald George Nelson]

I found a short clip of it and I've attached it here. I'm still trying
to find a full, hbigh quality version of the song. I've even e-mailed
Jimmie Haskell. I'm waiting for a reply.

have you been able to find out anything more on the song?

Kevin

Any luck?
