View Full Version : time zones, help me!
Can anyone tell me how many time zones there are in the US, or more specifically - if the oscar nominations are announced at 5:30am in California, what time is that in Michigan? (eastern time). also, if anyone knows what channel that'll be on i'd appreciate it!

There are four. Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific. And I'm not sure about what time it does air, but if you say 5:30 in California (pacific) then it would be 8:30 in Michigan (Eastern)
Any more questions? :D
thank you! yeah, i know they air at 5:30am, so i'm glad it won't be quite that early for me. thanks! (my roomie would be mad if I set my alarm for 5:30)

Your welcome!
Actually, there are technically six.
Let's break it down:
If it's 12:00 in Hawaii...
It's 2:00 in Alaska.
It's 3:00 in the Pacific Time Zone.
It's 4:00 in the Mountain Time Zone.
It's 5:00 in the Central Time Zone.
It's 6:00 in the Eastern Time Zone.

Yeah, I know there are six, but since she mentioned California and Michigan, I just used the 4 time zones of the lower 48.
