Okay, just so know there are potential spoilers

I realize the British entertainment news is not really known for it's veracity, but I was listening to the radio today, and heard that a British paper had reported that the writers of the show were planning on ending the series with Rachel dying in childbirth. It's probably just a rumour, but just thought you'd like to know. The DJ's on the radio thought NBC would do it just for the buzz, after all, the day after, it would be all over the media.

JENNIFER ANISTON DIES IN BABY TRAGEDY -- DETAILS OF FRIENDS FINAL SHOW

FRIENDS, the most popular sitcom on television is getting ready to end with a stunning dramatic blockbuster - pregnant Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston, will die while giving birth to her love child!

"There's never been a heartrending Friends episode like this before," a show insider tells Star. "It will be the most shocking scene ever played out on TV."

But the death of Rachel is just one of three top-secret, sensational endings being penned by the show’s writers, Star has learned.

For a sneak peek at all three scenarios, plus the inside track on whether the show and all of its stars will be back for a ninth season, be sure to buy the latest Star on sale at newsstands this week.

Hit sitcom Friends will return for a ninth season later this year after bosses at TV network NBC struck a new deal with the show's six stars, promising
them a $300,000 pay hike per episode. The cast, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Arquette, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc ,
will now take home $1 million an episode. It was feared the show would end this summer, but the new deal to film another 24 30-minute segments of the sitcom makes
Friends the most expensive half-hour program in TV history. Friends remains America's number one series with an average 25 million viewers tuning in every week to
see the latest adventures of Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe.

Apparently they have three endings for series 8 just in case the cast decided not to do series 9 but as you can see above they have agreed a new deal

I really don't know if I should believe this rumour or not. However, if it were true I think that it might be intresting.

A big part of me doesn't want Rachel to be killed, because I really like her character. The rest of me though thinks it would make a great ending to the series. If they did do this it would obviously have to be in the last ever episode of Friends, whenever that will be. It would be intresting to see the gang deal with a tradgey like Rachel's death.
