I bought the complete series when it first came out 6 years ago. It's a great show and the DVD's are a lot of fun. The 60's had the best sitcoms, that's for sure.

Back in 1991 when Nick-at-Nite did the Maximum Smart marathon I recorded the entire series in 7 days on 12 VHS tapes...set the alarm for tape changes, which often were in the middle of the night. I watched those until Time-Life released the whole series on DVD in 2005 or 2006. My Get Smart collection certainly takes up less space now!

I remember that marathon, they called it "The Complete Get Smart" but it really wasn't "complete" because the episodes were edited and time compressed, each half hour had 22 1/2 minutes of episode and 7 1/2 minutes of commercials. At the time though, it was a cool thing because the whole series was shown in a weeks time which is very unusual, retro TV stations normally don't devote a week of programmimg to a single show. Weekend marathons are common, but week long marathons are very rare.

I miss the Fandamonium (sp?) marathons that TV Land used to do long long time ago. Do you know when those stopped? It had to be early last decade (at least in 2003) as I do remember visiting a friend in VA who had no a/c. I was roasting trying to sleep on her couch and the Mayberry RFD marathon kept me company. ;)
