"Community" will be back on NBC next season, but will its creator, Dan Harmon, be back with it? That remains to be seen as Harmon has yet to sign a new deal to produce more episodes of the series.
On a conference call with reporters about the new fall schedule, NBC Entertainment Chief Bob Greenblatt said, "I think those conversation are happening as we speak."
However, things don't look good for the outspoken showrunner, who has been in the limelight recently for his very public feud with "Community" cast member Chevy Chase.
"I expect Dan's voice to be a part of this show somehow," Greenblatt said. "I'm just not sure if that means him running it day-to-day or him consulting on it."
Greenblatt denied Harmon's new role had to do with Harmon and Chase's recent differences. "I think it's a larger issue that has to do with a lot of things," he said.
No matter what, Greenblatt sounded optimistic about a possible showrunner change on the comedy, which is going into its fourth season and will move to Fridays at 8/7c this fall.
