I tried to access some old ratings records, but the best I could do was to find out that in 1963-64 Hazel came in at no.22 in the ratings. The fourth and fifth seasons the show did not make the top thirty which is as far down as I could access the records. I did read that it wasn't the poor ratings that caused CBS to finally cancel the show, but that Shirley Booth had some health problems which caused her to shut down the series, which she partially owned. I further read that when Ms. Booth made the announcement that she couldn't continue with the show, everybody in the cast was in tears. You can google "Network Television Schedule 1964" or any year and a neat grid with the year's schedule will appear. The top 30 shows are noted next to their titles within the grid.
