Rob Schneider's new sitcom employs caricatures, not stereotypes. PLUS: How bad is "Rob" (http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/review-rob-schneider-in-cbs-terrible-rob)?

I haven't watched it yet, but I recorded it - I've read of some thinking it was hilarious, so I'm going to watch it later today - I didn't think the commercials were that funny, but I'll give the show a try

It's appalling that a show this lazy and stereotypical is not only on the air but is receiving praise and ratings.
Oh America. Then again why do I expect anything better from CBS?

I didn't think I would like it because I'm not a Rob Schneider fan. The promos looked good so I gave it a chance. I loved it. I hope the ratings stay up. I'm glad to see it beat that awful Parks & Recreations. What an unfunny show that is.

Thank you! Plus, it was tacky. The whole scene where he spills candle wax on his slacks so he removes them and ends up accidentally knocking the grandma on the bed and he's standing behind her was completely inappropriate and NOT funny. Very juvenile.
*thumbs down* Hope it gets cancelled. Cheech Marin can do so much better than this junk.

Parks and Recreation may not be what a lot of people find to be "laugh out loud" funny, but it's a really well done show. It's rare these days that you find people both on and off the screen who put their heart and soul into a show and into the lives of its characters. It's truly well done in that regard.
New sitcoms seem so cheap lately.

It isn't that funny though and that's what a sitcom is supposed to be.

Your idea of a sitcom is Three's Company, one of the dumbest sitcoms of all time.

I have liked a lot of Rob Schneider's work in the past so I decided to give it a chance beecause by the previews it seemed like it was funny. Although it did a have a couple of all right funny moments, I still did not care for the show very much.

Three's Company is a classic. It's too bad that most of today's sitcoms aren't in their league. I obviously am not alone in thinking that. The show was a top 10 hit for 7 of their 8 seasons. It has been in reruns continuously since it left the air. Talk to me when P & R has that resume.

Concerning Three's Company, the show was stupid. I was an adolescent and teenager when it was first on. Basically every episode was some kind of misunderstanding that was overblown and blah, blah, blah.
The whole Jack is gay thing so he could live with the two girls was luducrous and probably would be panned by gays today. It was what, 1977 California? Larry Dallas, Regal Beagle?
This isn't to say that I did not like some of the actors on the show. I hated that John Ritter died, he was great and by all accounts a nice man. I recently saw "Bad Santa" again, and he was a hoot in that. Then there was Norman Fell who was fking hilarious as Stanley with that old horny wife. Then bring in Don Knotts after they left.
I live in China and bought some DVD's of Three's Company thinking as an adult, I might get into it. This had like the first two seasons. The only thing that wasn't garbage was the fine ass Joyce Dewitt in her shorts and the mugging off Norman Fell.

I gave up on Rob. The show sucks. May not be that bad if Rob Scneider himself was hit by a truck and let Cheech Marin be the star. Rob's wife on the show is amazingly sexy though.

First off, I'll say what I said before. Everyone has different tastes. You might not like TC but millions of people did and it survived in reruns even today so people still love the show. I wouldn't even have commented on TC if you hadn't brought it up and I'm sure you did because of what I said about P & R. I only did that because it is Rob's competition on Thursdays. I never went to the P & R board to down it though. As for Rob, I enjoy the show. Maybe I don't know what good comedy is but I know what makes me laugh and this is coming from someone who never cared for Rob Schneider or his brand of comedy before.
