"Hey fans, we want you to be the first to know… JAWS! and the Amity area will officially close on January 2 to make room for an exciting, NEW, experience we’re planning for you.

We know you love JAWS! and we do too. It has been an amazing attraction and after terrorizing the waters of Amity here at Universal Orlando for 20 years, it’s a VERY important part of our history.

So, we’ve got a couple things planned to ensure we always remember and honor it. We know it’s hard to say goodbye, but we can’t express how EXCITED we are about the new, innovative & amazing experience we’re going to be bringing you."

Today we say goodbye to JAWS! & Amity.

To celebrate the attraction and the memories it has given all of us, let's take a look back at some of our favorite JAWS! moments.

What a damn shame.

I also wish that Nickelodeon Studios would be revived at some Theme Park.

And The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera comes to Six Flags!

What about the JAWS attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood?

What about the JAWS attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood?

I don't know if you've been to both places but the attractions at the two parks are arranged very differently.

At Orlando, the attractions are their own individual thing. You have to go to The Mummy, The Simpsons, JAWS, Earthquake... separately.

At Hollywood the attractions are all part of one ride, which is The Studio Tour. The ride is about an hour long and the tram takes you through everything all on the same ride.

As of now the JAWS in Hollywood is still there, but it is not the same thing at all compared to the Orlando exhibit.

I've only been to Universal Studios Hollywood. It's been 8 years since my last visit, and I barely remember it.

It's a cool ride, but I guess it's not exciting enough for people anymore! Wow... definitely the end of an era!
