Diane Chambers: True Love or Just a Fling?

I'm really wondering if sam really loved Diane and she loved him. What if this happened before to sam with another women? Is she so much more special then any others? I'm really not sure. I know a lot of you are fans of their relationship but think this over until you decide. Please post your answers.

YES I TRUELY BELIVE THAT SAM LOVED DIANE AND THEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED IN THE VERY END,I have thought this over and I really think sam loved her the whole time,I am in love with the whole sam and diane romance part of the show,but i have thought about this alot and i think that sam really did love diane,I guess the part about the bar being sams true love is a matter of everyones opinion though,but being a sam and diane romantic and the fact that i truely belive he loved her,i,ll pretend that she was his true love though,but to each his own,I wonder if the writers were leaving the answear the imagination of the audiance,there were signs in the very begining the chemistry was there and the fact that he was upset when diane was going to somewhere in europe with sams brother,If she was just someone he cared about i don,t think that it would have bothered him that much,and went to italy to stop the wedding,and in the end they were going to marry,but the only reason i think that they didn,t get married is shelley long decided to leave the show at season 5,there were quit afew signs,but that is just what i think,what do you guys think?

I think he truley loved her. in the beginning episodes you can tell they had this chemistry.. and somebody like sam, for him to fall for just one person like that, i think that was a big thing.. and he never found any other love like that.. i dont know, just sometimes things are meant to be, and i think they were...

No doubt about it, Sam did truly love Diane. For the ladies man that he was, he gave it all up to be with her. When they first split due to Semenko painting her, it was all about his manly pride, but yet when she walked out the door he still began to chase her. (until he realized that he was Sam Malone and he didn't have to chase after a woman) So the first breakup was about foolish pride. He then chased after her in Europe( Why did he do that? For a piece of tail? C'mon now! He's Sam Malone!) When she finally did leave the show, what did Sam do? He sold the bar and ran away! The same bar that the show claimed was his true love! If Sam and Diane truly didn't love each other all those years, then why was mostly everyone dissappointed when they didn't end up with eachother in the end??? :confused:
