We get to see Steve as Dietrich in the episode "Fire". This was a pleasant surprise, as I had no idea anyone from the 1-2 had appeared on Fish. It's also nice to see him interact with Florence Stanley, which makes him the only cast member from Barney Miller apart from Abe Vigoda to appear opposite both Bernices (Doris Belack from the BM episode "Fish" being the other, ironically also Steve's first BM episode as Dietrich).

I don't remember him being in an episode too bad they don't release the show on dvd. The show had a cool theme.

Well, the first season of Fish is on DVD, but (so far) only as part of the Barney Miller complete series set. That's how I saw it - and yes, the theme song is very cool. :cool:

Yup!!! Having the whole series is awesome - but the icing on the cake is the extras. This is a true Barney Miller fan's dream come true!!! :cool: :D

I didn't realize the character of Dietrich was introduced so early in the series. So he was on with Chano as well as Fish!:cool:
