I was at another Walgreens, and I took something out of my purse and hid it in the store. An undercover Walgreens Officer saw me and told me he saw me steal something from the store and put it in my purse. Uh, I had taken something OUT, not IN. I told him I didn't steal anything.

He told me he would call the store manager on me and get me fired from my job if I didn't put back the item I stole. I kept saying I didn't steal. He asked me to take out the contents of my purse, so I did.

He said, "All right. I don't need to see anymore. You're OK. Just don't act so suspicious next time, or you can land in serious trouble."

I'm worried that he'll call my job up and tell them what happened, and the people at my job will look at me in suspicion and I'll lose my job. :(

I didn't want the item on me that day. My plan was to hide the item, and come back for it later.

My neighbor is a K Mart manager and every so often he has his wife go into the store to shoplift to check out how on the ball his security is. Well she has NEVER been caught! Some security!

Pro shoplifters almost never get caught so they may as well get rid of the buffoons they hire as security.they just harass the innocent.still don't understand why your hiding things in stores.very strange

I didn't want the item on me. I was going to put it in another place, but that place was closed, so I went to the Walgreens instead.

I guess so! My neighbor hates having to shoplift! She feels like a criminal! But she is getting very good at it I think! That could be a very bad thing for some people.:(

Just wondering why would you want to hide something in the store and then come back for it? Wouldn't it be easier just to leave whatever it is at home if you don't want it in your purse?

Your story doesn't make sense to me, either. You took the item out of your purse because you didn't want it on you?? Did you steal it from the other store? If not, why didn't you just leave it in your purse? If it was in there it was in your own private property and only you knew about it. Unless you knew you were going to be caught for something and didn't want the evidence on you.

In any case, that security guard was right to question you, acting so suspiciously.

If the story is true and not a means of drawing attention to one self, only one conclusion can be reached. You placed it in your purse before leavng the house and didn't want anyone to see it. No one but one could ask you to open your purse, that being a security checkpoint and one with a scanner. All prisons employ scanners and if you had any contraband, cell phone, weed, sharp instrument, it would have been picked up and you would have been bounced. So you wantd to hide it before entering.

Ny guess is you were visiting someone in one of the penal institutions, otherewise no one is going to say"let's see what you have in your purse, lady"

Do you work for another Walgreens? If so, and I was your manager and a security guard called me to report your decidedly odd behavior, I'd keep an eye on you.

I used to work in retail ages ago, and stashing merchandise in a place where it wasn't supposed to be was a usual tactic of employee pilferers Usually they would work in teams and since they knew some of the security protocols and personnel, they were much harder to catch, and more economically devastating than traditional shoplifters.

You may want to update your resume...

He pretended to be flirting with me, before he accused me of shoplifting. I can appreciate his style. Make the suspect think you romantically like her, and then drop the shoplifting accusation on her.

Though I should have known something undercover was going on when he asked me what Walgreens I worked at(though not really strange as I had just told another customer I didn't work at that Walgreens when she asked me for help). I didn't tell him my exact Walgreens area, just a broad, general area.
