I agree with you, in fact I stopped watching Cheers regularly when Diane left in 1987.

I think there is only one female character that I would rank along side Diane, and that is Julia Louis-Dreyfus in her role on Seinfeld.
She one a couple of emmys for her role as Elaine Benas.

Both of these women are very talented, and both will always be linked to their respective long running series.

Even though Julia Louis-Dreyfus had some moderate success prior to Seinfeld, with the series Day by Day and as a regular on Saturday Night Live.

I like Rebecca and Diane a lot but I like Diane just a little bit better. The Same thing goes for woody and coach, coach in my opinion is a better charactr
