"The Playboy Club" has been attracting a lot of negative attention lately, as complaints from the PTC and low ratings have put the glitzy '60s drama on cancellation watch.

Eddie Cibrian went on "Rachael Ray" to defend the show against charges of misogyny, but couldn't bring himself to take issue with claims that it's too sexy.

"Our show has nothing to do with the Playboy empire at all. It has to do with Chicago in the 1960s and the Playboy Club where all of the top entertainers, mobsters, politicos would come together and rub shoulders.

We're doing good storytelling and it has nothing to do with the Playboy brand and empire."

When asked about what he thinks when the critics say the show is "too sexy":

"Ehhh... you know, thery're right. Everyone's naked on that show. I mean we get naked... all the time."

When asked if he would have been a member of the club back in the day:

"I think so, yeah... why not? You know a lot of people think that just guys would go there to look at the bunnies, but married men brought their wives there. It was a supper club where you would sit down and have dinner while watching great entertainment.

That's what the feel of that era was, it wasn't as scandalous as people may think."
