Way too many westerns for my tastes. Still a good schedule, especially Sunday.

Pavan, do you have any idea when MeTV is going to add Leave It To Beaver, Adam-12, Dragnet, etc? That's a little interesting since Antenna TV is planning on adding those also. Apparently the NBCUniversal shows aren't exclusive.

I am excited about the Fall Schedule and the shows (Love, American Style, especially) but I am surprised and disappointed that Mission Impossible, Little Rascals, etc didn't get added. Maybe perhaps later in the Fall or Winter.

I agree on the too many westerns.. AS great as it is to some of the older shows finally geting air time.Batman, big valley or one another station too, actually batman is on 3 all together..lost in space is leaving family net and now on ME.. i wish we would get more variety of different shows and not shows that are on other classic tv networks or ones leaving one network to go to another one. Also the waltons on 3 different networks, hallmark, inspiration and i think gac

But i am thankful for the ones we do have. it is nice to see batman getting aired like it is, I have all the episodes on dvd and vhs so i dont watch them off tv nor do i watch any other shows on tv if i taped them to dvd...again it is nice to get these shows that havent been on for awhile aired.. I would love to see shows that were only 2-3 seasons like carter country and bj and the bear,im sure there are others

Of all the shows Pavan named I was particularly looking forward to Make Room For Daddy, That Girl and The Lucy Show. Figures with my luck those will be added months or years from now. Oh well at least I'm happy with Bosom Buddies and Batman, although I wish more than 2 episodes a week were being aired...

I still don't have MeTV, and I want it, but I still think Antenna TV is better. This schedule for MeTV has too many westerns and dramas, like someone else said I want more sitcoms. Plus, the shows I want to see are not on at convenient times. Get Smart is only on in the wee hours of the morning on Saturdays, and The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, and Laverne and Shirley are only on Sundays during church and Sunday lunch hours. It would be nice if they would add Andy Griffith and Family Ties. At least I Love Lucy has some decent time slots, but for right now, I'm better off with Antenna TV.

How many of you have substitutions on your MeTV station?

WSPA substitutes The Beverly Hillbillies with My Three Sons (FOX affiliate has rights) but nothing else.

I'm not getting in to The Rifleman. I don't like it in the evening hours, especially between Rockford Files and M*A*S*H. A little out of place. I'd rather have seen another sitcom around that time.

If you have a MyFamilyTv Affilate in your area you can catch Lassie episodes on Myfamily TV it air on myfamilytv weekdays at 4:00pm but some affilates may air it at a diffrent time. like my local station has a My familytv affilate they show Lassie at 8:30am and 7:30pm weekdays.

Right now my only criticism of MeTV is the fact they simply have too much on the plate. They are host to over 50 shows, more than half of which are hour-long dramas. There just aren't enough hours in the day/week to give each one proper exposure. AntennaTV has just over 30 programs with only 7 or 8 of them an hour per episode. I think viewers have become accustomed to at least 2 episodes of sitcom reruns at a time. Therefor AntennaTV's format is better in my opinion but I really don't care for their shows.

I feel the same way. I know we always seem to want more variety on these boards, but they are trying to offer too much. I wish they'd air re-runs of some of the primetime sitcoms after 1am instead of more hour-long shows. They could cut down on those, IMO. Like I said on the other thread, I'd like to see sitcoms starting at 4pm or so.

I'd be really interested to know their daily ratings. I could imagine the audience for such a limited niche channel not being garden variety 9-5 folks. You'd think if the schedule wasn't working then changes would have been made long ago. But the fall lineup just pursued the agenda further. They must be doing well considering they grew by about 10 shows.

I have turn on my CC on my TV and Digital Converter box and i have yet seen any Closed Captioned information come up on my ME-TV when i turn on my Closed Caption on METV. but on the on Screen Guide it listed CC but no CC information comes up on METV.

I seen on the WCIU TV Website where they are working on the Closed Caption stuff for the shows it said some of their shows they are able to run doesn't include the Closed Caption stuff for METV Network

WPXI's broadcast of MeTV is indeed close captioned and it does work on my Samsung LN46C530. I think that would be more dependent on the affiliate broadcasting than anything else.

Francisco-Oak-San Jose market. Granite Broadcasting Corporation’s KOFY-TV20/Cable 13 is a local,
independent station that covers the nine Bay Area counties. Me-TV will launch soon and be carried over
the air on channel 20.2. Discussions are underway to return Me-TV to cable systems in the market.

Looks like they'll be airing Halloween themed episodes during their regular schedule.

ThisTV will be running classic horror all day Halloween.

9:00AM Burnt Offerings
11:30AM Island Of Lost Souls
1:00PM The Creature Of The Black Lagoon
3:00PM Dracula (1931)
5:00PM Son Of Dracula
7:00PM Son Of Frankenstein
9:00PM The Incredible Shrinking Man
11:00PM The Invisible Man

Thistv.com lists Svengoolie instead of The Creature Of The Black Lagoon. Don't know if it means anything but maybe they are planning to air the Svengoolie episodes with these movies? I believe all the Universal films have been featured on Svengoolie in the last few years.

The two diginets have licensed a package of animated Christmas shows from Broadcast Partners that includes The Fat Albert Christmas Special, Cricket on the Hearth, Second Star to the Left, The Legend of Frosty the Snowman and He-Man and She-Ra — A Christmas Special.

Broadcast Partners today announced it had entered into a license deal with both Me-TV and ThisTV to carry its 2011 holiday package of classic animated fare that includes The Fat Albert Christmas Special (starring Bill Cosby), Cricket on the Hearth (Danny Thomas, Marlo Thomas and Ed Ames), Second Star to the Left (Hugh Laurie), The Legend of Frosty the Snowman (narrated by Burt Reynolds) and He-Man and She-Ra — A Christmas Special.

Broadcast's Partner's President Neal Ardman said: "Doing a deal with Me TV and ThisTV was the obvious choice for this amazing content."

Neal Sabin , president of Me-TV and ThisTV, said: "Adding seasonal content for families and boomers to both ThisTV and Me-TV makes sense for our viewers, affiliates and advertisers. Having classic characters from Santa to She-Ra to Fat Albert insures these programs will reflect the spirit and programming of both our classic TV and movie-based networks.”

According to Ardman, "Me-TV and ThisTV bring a huge national audience to some amazing titles that, frankly, have been unseen in years. How wonderful for parents to now be able to share some of these holiday memories with their own children."

Unfortunately ThisTV's website has very few details about the Halloween schedule. That would be great if several of them were the Svengoolie versions. Last Halloween is when I discovered ThisTV with Elvira hosting The Brain That Wouldn't Die. With her show off the schedule it would make much more sense for Svengoolie to move there and make some room for MeTV's crowded lineup.

I can't believe MeTV is doing almost nothing considering all the celebrations and marathons they have. Just a handful of the shows are airing Halloween episodes. Nothing special at all. It would make more sense to have a Twilight Zone marathon and/or special presentation of Svengoolie.

I agree. I don't get this show or why it belongs on the national Me-TV. If not THIS, put it on Me-Too in Chicago since it seems to have a loyal following there.

I don't really know of a solution to Me-TV's crowded lineup - I *love* the channel and watch it a lot, don't get me wrong, but it could be streamlined during the week. They seem to want to find room for every show they air - I'm more in favor of airing fewer shows and rotating some of them in and out of the lineup every couple of quarters. I'd cut back on the dramas and air just sitcoms with more double episodes weekdays from 5pm-12am and from 5am-10am. There seem to be varying opinions about it, but personally I've grown so used to double episodes in the past 10 years that I wouldn't mind seeing more.

I'm not big on a lot of Antenna TV's shows, but look how much "cleaner" their scheduling is.

I found out that one of my locals airs some Me-TV Programming. Unfortunately most of the channel still has paid ads and religious programming. I guess 5 to 10% of Me-TV is better than nothing.

I get Gomer Pyle, Love American Style, I Love Lucy, My 3 Sons,Gunsmoke, The Big Valley, Bob Newhart, The Odd Couple, The Untouchables, 12 O'Clock High, Combat, and Rawhide on weekdays. I get a few different ones on weekends. I just wish I could get the whole channel.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is a classic while Cricket on the Hearth, The Forgotten Toys, The First Snow of Winter and Second Star to the Left are all very good specials. I don't think they'd be at all out of place on ABC Family's line-up to be honest.

I do plan on recording a couple of them, particularly the He-Man/She-Ra special. But really, why would they bother licensing these and then shuffle them all into early morning oblivion? Hopefully they'll get better timeslots for December airings.

Again, it would make much more sense to air them on ThisTV in the first place due to MeTV's congested schedule. We'll see if these garner much attention or promotion. If not then I'd say Weigel fumbled the ball.

Mission: Impossible will join the weekday schedule on 11/28, airing at 2am. This will move 12 O'Clock High to 4am (replacing Rawhide). Peter Gunn will join the weekday schedule also, airing at 1:30am. This bumps Marshal Dillon off of the weekday schedule and Rawhide entirely.

Just a wild guess as to why Marshall Dillon(the half hour black and white Gunsmoke episodes) is going off Me-tv.I know the Westerns channel picked it up and will be airing it soon, so that may be the reason.I have no idea about Rawhide however.I notice the Westerns channel is one station that seems to have more or less exclusive rights on alot of the tv shows they air.

and i guess Rawhide could be also coming to Encore Western

Here is what METV Posted on it website about those two shows

Attention Me-TV viewers, because of an exclusive pay cable window, both Rawhide and Marshal Dillon will be leaving the Me-TV schedule on November 28. We are sorry to see them go and hope to add them back to the schedule in a couple of years.

Nobody is arguing MeTV should be like every other channel. But the schedule should air more than 1 single episode of a show per day. It just seems they have spread themselves entirely too thin. Almost everyone has become accustomed to a block format for reruns. Like it or not that's how shows & channels get discovered by the public. I really like AntennaTV's format of double episode blocks and the perfect amount of shows - none of this daily several-hour nonsense to makeup for a small lineup.

At over 50 programs MeTV's current roster is large enough to support 2 or 3 full schedules. And now they are adding these holiday specials to boot? It would be fantastic if they took the original MeToo concept national - 1 channel for comedies and 1 channel for dramas. I really like this channel a lot but the schedule is overly complicated.

I really dislike it when a channel programs a double episode block. It really is a product of the late 1990s. Back in the 70s and 80s it was rare for a station to air back to back episodes of the same program. When stations started doing this, I felt it was such a waste of time, when they could use the second timeslot to show some other program. For the programmer, it's heaven. For me, the viewer, I wish they would do away with it all together. I like the variety.

This is precisly why I love Me-TV, because they have so many shows. Watching ME-TV, to me feels like watching some independent local channel, back in 1988. I love it. Personally, I don't think they should change a thing. Just shuffle some of the early morning sitcoms to later in the day.

I get MeTV Monday in Memphis. It is replacing RTV on WLMT 30.2. CW is the main channel there. I still think I will be watching Antenna TV more. I'll manily be watching I Love Lucy, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and maybe Dick Van Dyke sometimes, but most of the shows I like are on Antenna TV. I might watch the Brady Bunch, but it's on at an inconvenient time and I already have Seasons 1-3 on DVD, and I'll probably get 4 and 5 with some of my Christmas money, so it's not that big a deal. I just hope Me-Too will go national one day.

We aren't "complaining" there are too many shows. It's called constructive criticism. Those of us who are being critical of MeTV are doing so because we love the station but there is always room for improvement. ONCE AGAIN, nobody is in favor of the TVLand treatment. I believe that AntTV's format is in between TVLand's and MeTV's and spells the best formula for success in the OTA arena. Can't speak for anyone else but I certainly want to see MeTV succeed. These are just suggestions/wishes I thought would make good discussion and instead I get character attacks. Jeez...

Actually The Brady Bunch is one of the very few shows on MeTV that I've noticed uses the aweful older syndication cuts. It's a shame because almost all their shows use newer higher quality transfers with only a select few having flat colors and noticeable cutting - pointing to old syndication versions that haven't had new transfers in decades. I'd pass on watching Brady Bunch on MeTV since you [will] have the DVDs.

I'm sorry you saw my post as a character attack, because that wasn't my intention. You seem like a nice person and have the right to your opinion without being accused of 'complaining'. Personally, I like the variety of shows from the several genres that ME TV has to offer, and I don't like back to back episodes because it overexposes a show and makes it get old too fast. I guess we can agree to disagree. At least we both like ME TV and hope it succeeds.

When I grew up in the greater Los Angeles area, you did not hear of stations having one-hour comedy blocks or two episodes back-to-back from such series. I remember in the 1970's I Love Lucy aired on KTTV Channel 11 twice daily. First airing would be at 9:00am, another airing at 7:00pm at night. What's My Line? would air opposite on KHJ-TV (now KCAL-TV) Channel 9 at that same hour. The Flintstones would air once in the morning at 8:30am, per se and at 5:00pm early evening.

I love variety, I love the assortment. Mix 'em around!

Since Pavan or someone hasn't posted this yet I thought I'd give a heads up. Looking at the Me-TV website they have their Christmas programming listed. No marathons of any one specific show - basically those specials they aired over Thanksgiving weekend and special airings of Xmas episodes. The rest of the schedule is the regular schedule with SOME episodes being holiday themed. There is nothing planned for New Years Eve. The New Years Day schedule isn't available yet.

6am-9am paid programming
10pm-2am paid programming
so about 7 hours of paid programming daily.
I guesss its better than the 12 hours when RTV was there , but I was hoping for more ME-TV , but I guess they have to pay the bills.

Ugh... another station that's bastardizing the Me-TV schedule. I feel sorry for those of you subjected to a hindered version of this channel. Here in the Pittsburgh market they occasionally preempt the regular schedule for some sporting event no one cares about. I guess the law allows local modification of any broadcast channel, regardless of how its designed. Although I will say that RTV seems to be the most susceptible to a schedule shake up out of all these OTA channels. Which is partly why I think it's heading straight down the crapper.

It looks like when WMFP 62.1 changes from RTV to ME-TV on 12/15 they will continue with the paid programming . Looking at the listing it looks like :
6am-9am paid programming
10pm-2am paid programming
so about 7 hours of paid programming daily.

WMFP should have put ME-TV on 62.2 instead of moving RTV to 62.2 . RTV shows 12 hours of paid programming. So between both channel/sub-channels they are showing 19 hours of paid programming!!!!

I hope its not Petticoat Junction, but I have a sneaky suspicion it is because they recently added the show to their Saturday schedule and they started with episode #193. Last Friday, they showed episode #177. I did the math and there are 15 shows in between. Show on Jan. 1st, they should air Episode #193 again.

Oh thats just great , when ME-TV goes live 12/15 on WMFP 62.1 , they will be showing paid programming from 10p-2am so no more Odd Couple for me. Just when I think I am getting something great , I am let down by WMFP with them showing paid programming. Actually, does that mean I have ME-TV now too?

Also the over the air channel that airs RTV is a channel called WSAH, the same call letters that I have for RTV. I looked at the schedule for WSAH, which is RTV in my area and they still have the same shows that RTV was showing.

I figured out what is wrong. WMFP is still carrying RTV on its digital substation (62.2). My cable provider shows WMFP on channel 20, but for some reason, they have this mapped to 62.2, rather than 62.1. So the only way I can currently get MeTV is with rabbit ears. I'm going to give them a call and find out if this is deliberate, or if they just screwed up.

Yes, I noticed that too, although they are showing fewer infomercials than they did when they carried RTV on the main station. Previously, RTV shows didn't start until noon on weekdays, but they seem to start the MeTV shows before that. Hopefully they'll be successful enough with MeTV that they can drop more of the infomercials and carry the complete schedule. Their RTV schedule, now that its on the substation, is more complete as well.

Sounds like your local affiliate is preempting Me-TV during those hours, so you should contact them (your local station) and let them know how you feel.
I had a similar experience. My local station would preempt Antenna TV during the 11:00 hour and show a repeat of the local news instead of Hazel. I sent them an email to let them know I was unhappy. I think they received a lot of complaints because they stopping preempting the show, so it helps to complain.

WMFP ch 62 in Boston does the same thing with infomercials. These stations(WMFP, WSAH) do not sell any local commercials , so there revenue is based on paid programming . So with no paid programming , no channel. Most of the ME-TV affiliates are on sub-channels , so getting revenue is not a problem. I can't see this changing at any time soon. ME-TV was able to score 2 major markets (Boston , NY). Because these are main channels , there was already satelitte and cable coverage in place. At least WMFP put RTV on there sub-channel 62.2

Ok, so I emailed WSAH and actually got a response. Here it is below:

At present we are only airing a few hours of paid programming per day.
10pm - 2am and 6am - 9am M-S or 6am - 2pm Sunday. (7 hours daily, 9
hours Sunday vs. 12 hours every day with RTV)
It is our goal to reduce the amount of paid programming as things
progress. You can assist us in this by supporting any local
advertisers on WSAH.
Additionally RTV is still available on our over the air -2 channel.
You can also help us by requesting your cable provider carry this
channel in its digital tier along side the other channels such as NBC
Weather, PBS Create, THiS TV and Antenna TV.
Thank you for your question and support.
