College Penants

does anyone know about the hundreds of college pennants at Arnold's? there must be a reason why they're there. I keep noticing "Oregon" on the stage next to the drums, although Garry Marshall probably didn't realize that Oregon's colors are green & yellow, not blue & white. Also, I notice Jefferson High School's nickname "Ducks." Oregon's teams are also called "Ducks." Any particular reason why the teams at Jefferson are called "Ducks?"
