The fire episode

Hi,

Wow. The 80s shows had a lot of fire episodes. Webster had one. Punky Brewster had one when Henry’s photo studio caught on fire (his original Photo studio – not the one in the mall). The Hogan Family had one when the top of their house burned down starting from that lamp in the attic. All very tragic and frightening to watch as children of the 80s!

I never saw the fire episode of Webster. (I have seen a handful of episodes but the fire episode was not one of them.) What happened in it? How bad / heartbreaking was the aftermath? Obviously they didn’t pull a Hogan family and rebuild the apartment as they went to a completely new house.

I guess I just wanted to get your perspectives on it and how traumatic it is.

I never saw the fire episode of Webster. (I have seen a handful of episodes but the fire episode was not one of them.) What happened in it? How bad / heartbreaking was the aftermath? Obviously they didn’t pull a Hogan family and rebuild the apartment as they went to a completely new house.

I guess I just wanted to get your perspectives on it and how traumatic it is.

The Fire ep. was on YT but it's in Spanish (and recently got pulled due to the user's account being suspended).

The fire started when Webster was told by his parents not to play with a chemical experiment kit he snuck and played with in the middle of the night by rushing and putting it all in his closet when some of the chemicals created a reaction in the closet that ingited the fire.

Once the fire started, they had only a little bit of time to grab any personal memorabilia they could get (George grabbed his trophies, Katherine her personal social work forms and what not, and Webster grabbed his teedy bear) and rushed to Jerry's apartment and stayed there temporarily.

By the episode's end, George, Katherine and Webster went back to their old apartment (by this point was now in shambles) and sobbed over the remains of their old apartment and said goodbye to it.

This was also one of at least several special episodes of S2 to use a special melancholy version of the closing theme song.

Sadly, no. They showed the usual still outtakes from the day's episodes, which did include the firey scene and the aftermath scenes.

Also, there was a fire episode in the S7 opener of Facts of Life when Edna's Edibles had burned down. Then it became a boutique for the rest of the series.
