carla and cliff were never together were they? i saw they were in the cutest couples poll. i know that there was that episode were carla was nice to cliff because he tricked her into believing that he was a judge in the boston waitress contrest. (ha! i love that one)

I'm pretty sure they never hooked up. The only "Cheers" guy she ever slept with was hardly seen Paul. She kissed Norm (just last night actually), kissed Sam romantically once, but never Woody, Cliff or Frasier. But, right you are about her kissing up to Cliff for that contest (foot, back massage).

Though the Cliff/Carla aspect was the one I didn't like the most about Cheers. The way he constantly takes her jibes without coming back with anything. If I was Ratzenberger, I woulda said to the writers, "Hey, gimme some jokes so I don't look like a punching bag for God's sake!"

They never hooked up! It is up there b/c someone just said wouldn't it be funny if they had hooked up. And then, in tonight's episode she was in the middle of Indian Summer and she said Cliff was cute and had a nice butt. Then, she pulled Frasier into the office.
