I thought he was an excellent addition to the show. The perfect guy to have sitting around in the background and provided good wisdom for Arch with just the right tact.

He had an episode here and there where he was the main focus. But, he gave a great performance during Season 2 in "The Trashing of the Temple" where he told Archie that he was being stupid for pulling Stephanie out of her synagogue after some people attempted to bomb it. Does anyone remember this episode? I was very impressed by this.

Interesting trivia - Bill Quinn was the real-life father-in-law of Bob Newhart (and did a few guest spots on both The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart).
