who here remembers when Carol revived her show for just one episode in the summer of 1979?

...but Carol wants everyone to forget it ever appeared- just as much as she pretends to ignore the fact that her first variety series was "THE ENTERTAINERS", on CBS' 1964-'65 schedule. And for good reason: she wasn't originally a part of it every week. She was a rotating host, with Bob Newhart and singer Caterina Valente {all three appeared in at least one episode}. However, Bob left the show in mid-season, and Carol and Caterina became co-hosts for the rest of the season, before it ended in March 1965. She also didn't have majority control of the series, as she did her own (executive producer Bob Banner served the same function on both shows, and was an equal production partner and owner during the first few years, before she eased him out).
