Apparently, he turned down the role and it eventually went to Rob Reiner. Do you think he could've made a decent Mike?

No I can't see Harrison Ford as Mike Stivic. Rob Reiner was a liberal in real life and so he brought a lot of himself and his real beliefs to the role of Mike. And I don't think anyone else could have played that role as well or as personally as he did.

Harrison Ford just doesn't LOOK like a Meat Head.

Wow, I never knew that. I just can't imagine anyone else playing Meathead other than Rob Reiner.

It's hard to say for sure, but I think like so many successful shows, AITF just won the casting lottery when they cast the four people that they did.
And it seems to have worked out for everyone involved, Mr. Ford included. ;)

Yes, I don't think Mr. Ford had anything to worry about.

I actually think Harrison would have made a good "meathead". If you watch Harrison Ford in interviews, he seems rather "meathead-ish", in a more dopie sort of way. I think he could have pulled it off.
And the fact that Rob Reiner was a stout liberal I guess just means that he didn't have to stretch his acting skills(what he had of them) very much.

My wife just looked up "Bob Reiner" on the internet, and he still looks like a Meat Head.
But Harrison Ford? I'm sorry, but that face just does not say "Meat Head."
