Hey, King wasn't being rude. He was just voicing his opinion. No need to get defensive, for Britney Spears can stick up for herself, I'm sure she hears all those "insults" all the time. And probably, it hurts(depending on who it's coming from) but I don't think she would care if anyone on this board, expressed their dislike for her.

BUT! When Madona was doing these things in the mid-80s (Anyone remember what she did at the MTV Music Awards in '84 when she sang"Like a Virgin?") , she wasn't getting all the heat Spears is getting. I flatout HATE Britney Spears. She's an awful role model and her music BLOWS. It's a shame that a lot of young gurls look up to someone who likes to get half naked in front of millions of viewers of all different ages. She has utterly no dignity. When she was 17, she did that friggn' Rolling Stone photo shoot where she showed off TOO MUCH of her young, not-yet-legal, teenage body. It's sickening. PUT SOME CLOTHES ON! Also, I know what the definition of slut is and I think Britney is one. She's probably screwing EVERY male in the recording business.

I agree with all of that!I don't HATE her becuase I've never really met her but I think she is a really bad role model and she doesn't sing that great either.I have heard better even though I did like one her songs.Anyway the reason I don't like her very much is well all those reasons posted by glitterbabie but thats just my opinion.

Yes - everyone is entitled to their own opinion but think that some of you are taking this topic waaaaaaaay too seriously. So some of you dislike Britney and some of you like her - let's not tear one anothers heads off over it.

And another point - I think people are mis-using the word "hate". I don't "hate" anyone - and there have been a lot of people who've treated me bad enough that I should hate them. So I don't see how you can truly hate someone just cos they sang a song that you didn't like or they wear clothes that you disapprove of.
"Love" and "hate" are the 2 most mis-used words in the english language.

I can't speak for EVERYONE, but I myself don't WORSHIP Jinny. She has good and bad qualities, like Andrew Jackson (Ah...US History class at work). But on the otha hand.... do WORSHIP, no thats not a very good word....obsess over the actress that plays her. Brittney is now a musical icon, like Madonna. Brittney may not be as great of a singer like Alicia Keys, but neither can Janet Jackson sing well, but she's still an icon. Brittney, Madonna, and Janet are probably not famous for their wonderful singing abilities but for being just so provoking. Madonna has said as much, and Im sure Brittney and Janet would agree. You can't call them sluts because they dress a little less in their videos or on stage! They probably don't go around dressing that way walking down the streets of Los Angeles! Britney, Madonna, and Janet aren't sluts at all, is all im saying, at least in my opinion.
