What are your opinions? Is this the cream of the crop or just an average saturday morning cartoon?

Absolutely although it may be considered racist and stereotypical by some it was one of the few Saturday morning cartoons of that era that require the loss of brain cells to watch it.

It was probably the most socially conscious cartoon, yes. Best? Well...I liked it but it wasn't nearly as entertaining to me as others, including Scooby Doo (and his various permutations) and the Superfriends (and THEIR various permutations).

It was certainly the most educational cartoon of the 70's but that doesn't necessarily make it the best. As Retro4Life said there were other cartoons in the 70's that were more entertaining and more exiting.
