Yes, this was very real, and Tisha CHOSE to leave. What I recall hearing was he was going a little overboard during the Martin/Gina kissing scenes. This bothered her, and this was the downfall of their friendship. The last few episodes she did, she made sure that they weren't on camera together. The set up was she was out of town, and their scenes would be phone conversations.

Didn't she file a sexual harassment suit and/or a restraining order against him at some point?

Yes, she did, but it was settled. That is why she finished her last few episodes, but not on camera with Martin Lawrence.

I will never understand why they just couldn't Martin a new girlfriend. Why did the show have to end because Tisha didn't want to want to work with Martin anymore?

Well, they went along with the remainder of that season, but it was very different without Tisha's character. Of course Martin was still the focal point of the show, but his relationship with Gina was also a big part of the show. So I don't think long time viewers would've been too receptive of another woman popping up so soon as a love interest. So instead they brought in a dumb acting girl for Cole, and sorta moved Pam in the leading lady spot...except the episodes were more geared at her and Martin's insults towards one another.

Overall, it really did seem as if though they were phoning it in during that last season, and I think that also hurt the ratings which lead to cancellation.

It didn't have to be right away it could have happened over time. The show should have only ended if MARTIN didn't want to do it anymore, not Tisha Campbell. Who the hell is she?

I agree that it would've worked better if it happened as time went on, but that last season was pretty bad. I think a lot of viewers stopped watching, and thats probably why the show got cancelled. I have a feeling if the show had still done well in the ratings, they probably would've brought in a new actress during that following season.

But it was established that his love was Gina. So viewers expected that. When she wasn't there, there was a missing element in that picture. I got tired of Martin cracking on Pam and then Pam having to comeback. It got too excessive to me. I liked how they were on season one. Pam was more sophisticated to me.

Who cares? People don't remarry in real life? I will always be mad at the fact that the show ended because her YELLOW A$$ was no longer on the show LOL

I care along with millions of other hardcore Martin and Gina fans. Their relationship was a big dynamic of the show. If you want someone to blame, then blame Martin, himself. He was the leader of the pact. He had the power to keep things under control and to make sure his cast was happy. Everybody had a part to play in this production. If she was not happy with Martin crossing the line, his tail should have stepped back. He must have overstepped because she left and when she returned, they had remote scenes and there was a possible chance Martin was high. I love Martin but that captain didn't run his ship right.
