I don't know what is going on.

First my home computer and now a laptop- computer viruses that seem to come from nowhere.

I will get the diagnosis when both come back- hopefully today. (the laptop went bananas with something that said System Tool, like it was a real anti-virus program)

My home computer has a firewall and AVG. The laptop has, well, not entirely sure beyond AVG since it's my wife's.

Anyone experiencing problems like me?

And what is the best free protection (firewall and virus) and/or least expensive one to purchase?

I use McAfee Total Protection, it came with my computer and I renewed it when the trial ran out. I think it's around $40 but covers up to 3 computers for a year. I don't know a lot about software and viruses, but I haven't gotten any viruses while using it.

Those fake AV Program viruses are running wild right now. I've fixed at least 5-6 computers infected with them since Halloween.

I haven't been able to get my computer working until now. It just wouldn't come on. Today I turned it on and boom here I am. I'm wondering if it was a virus.
