Was It Silly to Still Call The Show 'Laverne & Shirley' After Cindy Williams Left???

Shouldn't they have just retitled the show 'Laverne?' much like they did when Jean Stapleton left All in the Family, it was rename Archie Bunker's place...

It would have made more sense to have changed the name to "Laverne", but then they would have risked antagonizing the remaining Cindy Williams fan who might have stayed on as viewers. I think they always hoped that they would be able to get Cindy back--until she sued them for breach of contract that is.

Had the show gone on to another season.....it would have been retitled "Laverne & Company", making it more or a less a spinoff/sequel series. Well thankfully we never found out.
