The instrumental closing to "All in the Family",written by the late Carroll 0'Connor and Roger Kellaway, called "Remembering You?" And the vocal version of "Remembering You"that Carroll 0'Connor sang on "The Sonny and Cher Show"with Sonny and Cher back in the 1970's?

It's a beautiful song. Here's Carroll O'Connor singing it.

I never there were lyrics to the closing theme. Nor did I know that Carroll O'Connor was a lyricist. Thanks for posting the link Sonny!

I recall seeing Carroll O'Connor sing "Remembering You" on TV in the 70's, but I had forgot he sang it on the Sonny And Cher Show.
Variety shows need to make a comeback. Nothing wrong with a little fun, some corny comedy and decent music. Puts people in a good mood, makes people happy. Modern TV is loaded with sex, violence and vulgarity, all negative vibes and makes folks uptight. Our society is in very bad shape.

You're right, it is beautiful.
And the camera going through the neighborhood (supposedly Queens, but I'd bet it's not) really adds to the sense of nostalgia I feel whenever I hear the song. It's funny; the song is kind of about nostalgia and all I think of is being young and what the world was like back then whenever I hear this (or the opening theme).

So true! Variety shows were once a staple of prime-time television (from the
1950s to the 1970s): Perry Como, Dinah Shore, Steve Allen, Milton Berle,
Caesar's Hour, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Laugh-In, Dean Martin, Flip Wilson,
Carol Burnett, Jackie Gleason, the list goes on and on. Great memories.
